Flies, heat and no room to hang out
The staff were really nice and helpful and eager to help me. They just couldn't speak English and neither were they always there. In the night it's an amazing stillness and peacefulness on this side of the lake
The tents are douring the day hot so we moved to the one wooden cabin. Unfortunately a rat is living in the roof and it was impossible to sleep with the noise. The place is in the middle of a farm next to a road. In the morning and even during the night it's loud from the motorbikes , barking dogs and farm work. And the worse of all was of course the flies. You can not find a place to relaxe there during the day. I really dont recommend this place

A magical lakeside glamping experience with cozy nights, breathtaking views, and stargazing
Surya Camp Buahan offers a beautiful glamping experience right beside Lake Batur and Mount Batur. The location, set at a higher altitude, is cool and refreshing — quite cold, in fact — but the tent came with a warm and cozy bed, so we stayed comfortable without needing extra layers. At night, the minimal light pollution creates the perfect setting for stargazing — an absolute treat for astrophotography enthusiasts. Mornings by the lake are stunning, with plenty of photo opportunities. Breakfast was included, and the Mi Goreng Sayur served was one of the best I've had — simple, flavorful, and satisfying. Overall, the stay was peaceful, scenic, and truly magical. I’d love to return someday!
There was a bit of mold on the tent walls that could use some cleaning, though the tent didn’t have a musty smell. Also, given how cold the area is, the lack of proper hot water was a bit of a downside. Since hot water is shared from a central heater in the office, the pressure and temperature aren’t ideal. Installing individual water heaters for each tent would make the experience much more comfortable.
