Love the building and a good location
Room seemd like an older conversion but clean and comfortable with a good bed so wouldn't put me off overall.

It’s a beautiful old castle, full of historical features, very nicely decorated and traditional in feel. Set in gorgeous countryside within a golf course.
The way round the back of the castle where you park is a bit scruffy, just needs some maintenance and a tidy up.
The room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, the en suite was rather dated but was clean and worked well, and for the price was acceptable.

Quiet location with easy access to Lancaster via taxi, rooms are simple but comfortable. The place is basically a mini castle / keep and the breakfast was the best I'd had in a hotel for a long time, we'll definitely stay again
After hours you have to enter through a separate entrance using a key code, unfortunately someone had not set the lock properly and we were locked out for over an hour until I managed to force my way in. There is no way to contact staff inside. I'm sure this was not normal, don't let this put you off.

Very quiet. Handy location for university. Atmospheric historic building and beautiful setting. Very good breakfast. Wonderful staff.
We visited on one of the coldest nights in January. Our room hadn’t been prepared or heated so we were given a larger room in the oldest part of the castle. This room also took a while to heat up. The bathroom was very cold. The decor was partially finished (bare wood door frame) and a bit sparse.
