Lovely Apartment

It is a lovely apartment less than a minutes walk to the funicular that takes you down to the beach. There's a park opposite for exercising your dog and it is an easy to walk into the town. The apartment is very nicely finished with all cooking and laundry equipment you'd want.

The only negative was the upstair neighbour, other reviews also mention this. He seems to do a lot of walking around which you can hear and this is an old house that wasn't designed to be flats so doesn't have all the sound proofing you'd usually expect. To be honest we got used to it after a couple of nights and it wasn't all day long. I can't imagine there's much the apartment owners can do about it. But it wasn't a deal breaker for us and we'd probably book again.

An amazing place to stay.

The apartment exceeded our expectations. It was beautifully appointed and every small detail made it amazing, from the delicious butterfly buns in the welcome pack to the detailed labelling of the kitchen products. It even included dishwasher tablets and washing machine pouches. The lounge area was comfortable and included many board games and activities for inclement weather days. The view from the dining table was gorgeous with sea views and a lovely park opposite.

An amazing apartment , immaculately clean and well presented. A lot of little extras that made our stay amazing . The pool facilities were a real bonus . Our granddaughter loved the pool . We will definitely be back .

A home away from home - highly recommend

The hosts had really thought of everything! There were delicious homemade muffins when we arrived, cupboards well-stocked with essentials and even milk in the fridge for a settling-in cuppa! The apartment was spotless and really felt like a home away from home - we cooked full meals every night as there were more than enough utensils to do so. Our three year old loved the jigsaw puzzles and storybooks in the living room cupboard! The location was great - walk to the end of the street, hop on the cliff lift and you’re at Scarborough Spa and the open top bus stop. There’s a Sainsbury’s Local a couple of minutes’ walk away and also a cracking local Chinese! It was also brilliant to be able to use the facilities at the Red Lea Hotel next door - they clearly have a great relationship with the owners of the apartment so we used their pool twice and they held onto our luggage for us on our last day too. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough - even the toiletries and washing up liquid were of a high standard!

This is no reflection on the apartment itself or the owners at all, but on the first evening (around 7pm) the downstairs neighbour came up to complain about our three year old running around. It was unfortunate that it happened on the first night as it did put us on edge a bit for the remainder of our stay. As I say though, no reflection on the apartment or owners as they were absolutely first class - just something to be aware of if you’re travelling with children or pets!

Beautiful days at Strathmore

Outstanding communication from the owners and they were very helpful. The location is beautiful, and the accommodation is very comfortable and clean. Tastefully furnished and equipped above average. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was always a free parking space in front of the house.

The photos in the listing are misleading regarding the view. You can't see the sea or the garden from the windows at all, and the guests staying above us were very noisy, even after midnight.

It was immaculate, the welcome pack was very useful and apartment was in a great location

Shame the bedroom didn’t have a king size bed given space. Also from a family perspective would’ve been good for second bedroom to be 2 single beds (which could be pushed together if needed as a double)

Amazing apartment, great value!

This apartment was such a gem of a find! Booked it last minute to attend a concert. The apartment is in a great location, so spacious and comfortable. I could live there!! The attention to detail was amazing too, so lovely they gave you little bits like home made cakes and biscuits. I will definitely stay here again!

Very roomy, very comfortable, in a very good location with an exceptional host.

This is really large, nicely set up & furnished property with everything you need for a very comfortable stay in a quiet but central location. The washing machine and dryer are a plus. A disk for parking is available & there were plenty of spaces nearby. We parked right in front of the apartment. Being on the ground floor is always nice. I am writing this review, however, to give as many thanks as I can to John, our host. After making a silly mistake (totally my fault) John could not have been more helpful. He went out of his way to sort things out very quickly which I’m sure was an inconvenience to him. A very friendly & professional man. 5 plus stars for the property, 10 stars for John.

Great experience!

The apartment is great! Beautiful and very comfortable! Location is great and the area itself is very nice! The host was amazing: not only they replaced the hairdryer (which unexpectedly stopped working), but also sent us stuff, which we forgot at the apartment. I can only recommend this place!

Super Starthmore Apartment!

The apartment is exceptional. Home from home with every need catered for. I love it when a host considers and includes the extras you might need during a short stay - varied utensils & sharp knives to allow you to cook a full dinner, laundry capsules to wash costumes & beach towels and bowls for a furry friend. The apartment was spotless with quality bedding and towels. Great location with parking included....and a fantastic option to use the adjacent pool, sauna & hot tub! The staff in the adjacent hotel Red Lea were lovely and welcoming.

everything was satisfactory. there is everything you need. Shampoo conditioner, body wash, body cream. there was sugar tea coffee milk biscuits cakes and crisps. this was probably one of my favourite apartments that we have stayed in. beds clean and comfortable and so much more

Spacious and comfortable flat in good location

The flat was very spacious and comfortable. It was in a good location, and we enjoyed some nice walks around Scarborough. There were plenty of treats left out for us! The Wi-Fi was good and there were a lot of TV options.

We had a bit of difficulty with the shower initially. At first, only freezing cold water came out! My sister managed to sort it out by adjusting the shower head? We then left the setting at quite a hot temperature as we didn't want to risk it going to freezing again! The stove top and microwave were a bit fiddly to operate. It would have been nice to have a full-length mirror and some hooks on doors. Also, everything such as mirrors, coat hooks etc seemed to be quite high up! A coffee machine would have been nice. The spa facilities could do with a bit of a makeover, and the jacuzzi was hard to get in and out of!

Apt spotlessly clean, everything you needed was available+ all extra touches like cake, milk etc was a bonus, bed's very comfortable all bedding and towels spotlessy clean

Noise from apt above was an issue during the night, can't say if it is always an issue certainly did not have anything to do with the owner of our apt.facilities at the hotel for the hot tub and swimming pool need a little TLC

Lovely apartment in great location

Great location and lovely well equipped apartment. Access to the small pool and gym nearby was a real bonus. Easy parking outside the apartment using a free permit.

The only problem was noise from the flat above especially during the night resulting in poor sleep.( Strathmore is on the ground floor).John the owner of the apartment did respond quickly after our complaint. He contacted the flat above and during the second half of our stay things were much improved

Great location, host and apartment

Beautiful apartment, John is a helpful and friendly host, and fast at responding to queries. Location was excellent and we enjoyed the short walk down into the centre. Apartment was lovely and well equipped, lovely to have fresh milk and a selection of welcome treats on arrival.

The beds were a little hard for our liking But couldn’t fault anything else

Superb 10/10 comfort.

Beautiful apartment in a lovely location. My daughter and I used the pool and jacuzzi which is in the hotel next door. Everything was spotless. Having the extra touches such as tea, coffee, milk, water and snacks there as well as cleaning products made it feel like home from home. We will be back.
