First and Last Youth Hostel

Friendly staff, everyone was very welcoming, warm and helpful. Has all necessary facilities, a spacious kitchen, various toilets and despite the shared spaces it was tidy and quiet. Directly opposite the port, our dog was welcome, we were able to check out in the middle of the night to catch our ferry, too. Ideal for our family whenever we take the ferry. This was our second stay here. Thank you!

Parking can be limited and tricky but is free on the road! We eventually always find a spot.

You are literally under the auspice of the famous White Cliffs of Dover . It feels you are living next to history and become immersed in it. For a photographer that would be enough, but the place is full of character. Plenty of reading material , classic books. A pool table and darts. Guitars to play in private if one so wished. A huge kitchen with complementary breakfast. Unique and friendly atmosphere. I met some very interesting people. Some just passing through others making it their base for a while. I liked it.

I did like it. It’s very well priced, the owner was always on hand, providing local knowledge, plus very warm and friendly staff.

Everybody there was incredibly friendly and welcoming. They replied to messages prior to the stay very quickly. Location was brilliant for the ferry. Kitchen access - perfect for putting together a quick evening meal and plenty of fridge space. Lots of choice of cereal and bread for breakfast. Room was comfortable for 3 adults and a child.

Parking is a bit hit and miss, but is free if you get a space. The property make this clear in communication, and is beyond their control. Bathrooms feel like they are in a permanent state of being redecorated.

Very flexible and helpful owner, who provided us with interesting information about the hostel and the castle. Easy check in. Quiet Easy to park in the street and to reach the ferry pier on the next morning. Access to the pool table. Access to fridge and breakfast essentials Allowing dogs
