Valley´s Ground house

What a wonderful stay we had! We had a most amazing week in this newly built house, where all our stresses melted away. The house is as described, comfortable furniture (the double bed was so comfortable, we slept very well!) and we had everything we needed. The outside area was fabulous: the pool, the gardens, the views were wonderful. Natividade and her husband were great hosts, very amenable and kind. Her husband (sorry for forgetting your name!) was so lovely and brought us bananas, passion fruit, tomatoes, apples and more from the garden. For us, the icing on the cake was the balcony overlooking the valley. Walking out onto the balcony from the bedroom in the morning was breathtaking, the scent of the eucalyptus rising up on the morning air was so calming and awakening, we found it a perfect place to practise a little yoga! We have never done that in any holiday home!! The balcony was also a wonderful place to sit and chill late evening with a beer or glass of wine. Perfect! The small town of Sever do Vouga had everything we needed, 2 large supermarkets ( we used Pingo Doce), several patisseries and a couple of restaurants. We particularly enjoyed Tempero Rustico, excellent food. Lovely location with some good walking and places to visit, a car is essential for this. Thank you to Natividade and husband for making us feel so welcome. Highly recommend.

We had an unforgettable and truly relaxing stay at the idyllic Valley's Ground house. It ticked all our boxes: The house is new - the exterior and interior design as well as the appliances are modern. The bedrooms, the combined living room/dining room and kitchen are spacious; having two bathrooms (one is an ensuite bathroom) enhanced our comfort. The beds were very comfy (we slept like babies). The living area and both bedrooms have a large glass front with a great view onto the forest on the other side of the valley. The house with its natural surroundings incl. the sounds of the birds and the faint mumbling of the creek below, provides a very restful atmosphere… you would not think that you were on the periphery of a small town! The overall location is great: The house is serenely tucked away in an idyllic location yet shops and restaurants are within short driving distance; Porto and Coimbra are about a one-hour drive away whilst it takes approx. 40-45 minutes to go to the beaches in Aveiro by car. To us, Valley's Ground house is a piece of paradise where we could forget the daily stress! The pool was another great plus, especially on very warm days! There is also a good selection of the beautiful hiking routes nearby. Finally, we would like to thank the owners who are both lovely and incredibly kind - we couldn’t have asked for a warmer welcome. We enjoyed every single moment in their idyllic and comfortable holiday home and had a wonderful stay in Sever do Vouga!
