Shirley House Self Catering Guest House, 5 min Drive to Cruise Ship Terminals and City Centre

Room is clean, staff is nice, the kitchen is clean. Therefore it was hard to check in when you first come, no sign, no number to contact because no office there. Should have a note to contact the landlord.

Everything was very clean. The kitchen was spotless, not only that, there was a supply of tea, coffee, sugar and Creamer. In the fridge there were 2 designated shelfs for each room. The staff was very helpful, I was so greatfull for them to lift my suitcase. I wish it would have been more handicap friendly. The step going in was tall and no place to hold onto. Loved the neighborhood. Quaint little stores, one store made sandwiches that I loved and they also had plugs, so I could charge my phone. Then there was a pizza place with outdoor seating, besides the very Italian inside. Homemade tiramisu that was yummy. Another place had Turkish food, very good also. The Uber ride to the port was just minutes.

For the $91 per night price, this was very good value. Indeed, the property is a mere 5 minutes from the port and train station, which is great. Also, there are good restaurants within a 15 to 20 minute walk. There is a decent full kitchen, although there appeared to be no way to make ice. Be aware that there are no en suite bathrooms, but the bathroom was always available to us, since the property was only about half full. However, only one of the two showers on the second floor where we stayed was functioning during our one-night stay.

So easy to book and staff communication was excellent. Would highly recommend. Free laundry facilities and kitchen a great bonus.
