Rooms are small but that was expected. Hotel was very good overall, it was very clean, the breakfast buffet was good and the public baths were very modern and uncrowded. The hotel took great pride and there was free broth in the evenings and we had a special sushi roll one night for a national celebration. Centrally located within easy walking distance from the station and the old town, as it is actually on the Nakasendo trail. A good base for the Magome to Tsumago walk.

Appreciated the vibe with no shoes throughout and a light onsen and complementary yukata.

My husband and I stayed here on a two night visit to the Nakasendo Trail and Atera Valley, and had a great experience. The hotel had a very welcoming staff, clean and comfortable rooms, a lovely breakfast, and also a great shared bath. It’s was convenient to walk with our luggage from the station, and close to various places to eat. Highly recommended!
