    This is my second time at RSL, but the first as a family on summer vacation. The hotel service is personal (we are regular travellers and the hotel staff here are among the most generous, pleasant and attentive). The grounds, the bar with live music at night and many indoor and outdoor pools are comfortable and sumptious. There is the Qixingling Trail (breezy, easy steps for elders and small children), Cold Springs park nearby and many local restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Unlike most people who like buffet breakfasts, or left comments about the poor breakfast spread, we felt that the menu option from which you can order as many items as you like and as many times as you want, was less wasteful but also very rich in enjoyment and satisfaction. Food was served hot, with vegetables, yoghurts, fruits, juice, continental bread basket to follow. The hot menu also changed on the second day and they catered for vegetarians. Although the number of restaurants or leisure facilities may not mach the variety you see at larger hotel chains, but in terms of class, this beautiful unique hotel ranks among the best. Please note, you need to book 3-days in advance for the outdoors rafting and canoeing. Also this spot is popular with instagrammers. So if you want to do swimming instead of people watching, the pools are open early in the morning and deep into the night.

    Our older children were playing in the poolside and left their belongings on the chaise and couch area between the indoor and outdoor pools but someone took all the cash that one of the child had totaling $230 USD. When we approached the front desk, all they can do was that theirs security footage is so old that you cannot see anything. To no avail help, we walked away feeling unsafe and dissatisfied at a 5 start resort.
