    The accommodation has breathtaking views. Unlike Qingjing, public buses only ply along the mountain road twice a day so unless one has own transport, Lala Shan is not a convenient place to visit as a solo traveller. Was disappointed upon arrival at the official checking time of 3pm when no one was at the hotel. It was raining heavily and despite sending an earlier message to remind my arrival time and calling the telephone number in the booking confirmation, there was no answer. Luckily some guests arrived to let me into the reception, out of the cold rain. I had to find a phone with a landline to call the numbers listed before someone arrived to check me in.
