Staffs were super kind. The room was so so.
5.0 / 10.0
Reception was great with a friendly staff, great bar with good food and friendly staff. Rooms have only single pane windows so you hear a lot of noise, but they do offer ear protection.
4.0 / 10.0
Comfortable mattress, crisp clean sheets, spotless bathroom, plenty of hot water, good location for us. $13 taxi ride from the train station. Friendly helpful staff.
Annoyingly audible traffic noise starting at 6 am, but maybe a room on the other side would be better. Sink faucet not properly seated, furnishings a bit shabby, no elevator.

Great value for a quaint vintage hotel, great area, convenient
3.0 / 10.0
Nice place, rustic. Great grill and bar below, gets noisy at night and just a t the edge of a rather rough neighborhood. We were on the quiet side and still could hear lots of music, and people going to the liquor store and traffic...

Clean room, staff was exceptional. It’s like 10/15 mins uber/bus ride to downtown.

Place was clean but very tired. Wi-fi was good, cheap supermarket across the road.staff friendly.
Not in the best area, 2 miles to Coal harbour.

Staff was great and bar/restaurant there was solid. Good food and service

The hotel is good for a 2 star establishment. It was clean the rooms were comfortable & the staff were friendly & helpful.
The area outside of the hotel is less desireable but people need to remember you are not booking a hotel in millionaires row. We experienced no issues at all with the area & we also rode the bus with no issues.
We parked our car in the car park as designated by the hotel & the car park was fine.
There is a little cafe called Rosemary's behind the hotel & we went there twice for breakfast, that was very nice.

Staff was very helpful if you’re looking for an inexpensive room away from downtown in a nice little neighborhood it’s for you. Our room on the street so there was some traffic noise. we were able to walk to Gastown, but we took a $20 cab to Yaletown. lots of shopping and restaurants on commercial Street.

Generally lousy experience. The room was tiny and very dated. Felt like the furniture hadn’t been changed since 1952. Not enough power outlets to charge our tech and no USB ports at all, which would have been fine if there were plugs. The carpet felt filthy although the room overall seemed clean enough, just old. No bathmat in the bathroom and we didn’t even use the shower because there was mold on the caulking. The volume on the tiny tv didn’t work. But the worst part was the noise from the downstairs nightclub. We were alerted by the hotel ahead of time that they hosted events but the noise level was simply inhumane. Our entire room shook from the base until 2-3 am. And the hotel isn’t accessible. No elevator and quite a few stairs so if you have mobility issues do not stay here. Would definitely not recommend this hotel. (The staff were nice but that’s the only good thing to be said really.)

There is a nightclub in the basement playing and VERY LOUD music that shook the walls until around midnight. Hotel was very out dated and in poor condition. The Staff was friendly and helpful. There is no elevator, and all the rooms are upstairs. I would strongly suggest you go somewhere else.

Avoid this hotel. They say they are in a safe neighborhood, but there are bars on the windows. You think parking is behind the hotel but it’s not- you’ll get boxed in. Disappointing to me that in the two emails they sent ahead of time, they said nothing about parking.
The parking they do have is a surface lot next door, right on the bus line. I honestly expected the windows of the car to be smashed the next morning. Gratefully they were not.
Room was outdated but clean. Bed was quite squeaky. Didn’t matter, cause your’re not sleeping with all the street noise, even with ear plugs in.
The two plusses of this hotel is that it’s a 20 minute walk to “the drive”/little Italy and a 5 minute uber to Gastown.
Not a place I would recommend to friends.

Expensive. Dirty, smell of pee, I canceled the second night couldn’t stay there, bad experience.

The room on the street side was extremely noisy all night long. They were very helpful in changing us to a quiet room. It is an older hotel but one can see that they are really trying to keep it nice. The staff was always very helpful and friendly.

But the hotel is a dump.

The hotel is old and in need of some improvements. For example the bed was worn out and not comfortable at all. Not the best part of town.

Staff at the Waldorf was very helpful and friendly. Building is old and not very well maintained. Room was dirty. Area around the hotel is dirty.

There is no elevator. We had to carry our luggage up to 2nd floor. The room is small and the bed is squeaky.

Bed mattress was old and saggy. No box springs. Must’ve been 20+ years old! The shower had cracked tile & moldy caulking, Located in the worst part of town according to the two Uber drivers. The hotel lobby door is locked 24/7! My room had an old-fashioned keyed deadbolt lock. Didn’t feel very safe. This place looks like it was built in the 60s and never updatedThe worst hotel I’ve been in over the last 30 years!
3.0 / 10.0
Comfortable, updated and clean room and front desk clerk is competent and friendly. The bad issues are that there are no elevators, it was difficult to shlep our big suitcases to the top floor and road outside was incredibly noisy all night long.

The loveliest of staff!
No issues with booking.
However, not very nice or clean for the price (but guess that’s just how things are these days?). Hairs in bathroom, bathroom sink very slow to drain (needs snaking!), and weird rumbling noise in room (AC?) that made it hard to sleep. This was room 115.

Not the best of locations, only a billiard hall was available for food. Felt uncomfortable walking any distance at all due to homeless on the street.
2.0 / 10.0
Quite disappointed overall. The location was terrible, in one of the worst streets in Vancouver and nothing warned us about it. Although fairly clean, the hotel is old and nothing like the pictures (misleading). Asian and Peruvian Staff were very friendly and helpful. Way too expensive for what it is. Will not return

After signing my name to the receipt and being handed a literal key, we were told there would be loud music from 1030pm to 230am. Not joking at all. A few blocks away was a drug addicted skid row. People were smoking, injecting and cooking their drugs. Do not go here. The restaurant was great but everything else was awful.

The young man working the desk during our check in was so wishy-washy and was taking so long that I turned my back for a moment and a young street person ran out with my backpack and my personal products and medications were lost as well as my jewelry.

Liked that it was on the City bus line and easy to travel to and from, altho directions about bus routes would have been handy.
When i made reservation, I asked for first floor or the fewest steps--I got a room with the most stairs. I asked for a room as far as possible from the bar - they gave me a room right over it. T.here was mold around the tub, there was dark/black hair all thru one of the beds. Both beds were lumpy and uncomfortable, as were all the pillows. I would give it 1 out of 10 because the wtaff was amazing, friendly and helpful.

Our original stay was 4 night 3 days and unfortunely due to flight delayed we miss one night. Front desk wouldnt honor refund or credit. Overall staff its friendly, place doesnt offer elevator, bathroom doesnt offer any hooks for you to hang your towels or clothing. Only 3 hanger was provided. Bed its 7 out of 10. House keeping didnt work on our room till 4:30 in the evening. Area have lots of homeless. Overall i will rate it a 6

Our experience at this hotel was appalling from start to finish. We arrived around 6:30 p.m. to find the reception desk completely unattended, with only a sign saying the receptionist was helping other guests. A phone number was posted, but when I called, it rang endlessly with no answer. We waited 40 minutes before the only staff member on duty appeared to check us in.
There is no elevator—only stairs—to access the rooms. The reception area, stairwell, and hallways looked and smelled dirty. Things didn’t improve in the room: both the bedroom and bathroom were tiny, and the shower was so cramped I could barely fit inside. The bathroom had multiple strands of hair on the walls and shower curtain, making it clear it hadn’t been properly cleaned. Walking barefoot in the room left my feet covered in dirt.
The mattress felt ancient, lumpy, and squeaky with every movement, even though it was covered with mattress protectors. We slept very poorly.
Parking was unsettling: the hotel lot looked abandoned, full of garbage, with no security. The gate remained open at all times, and we saw people using drugs there.
Thankfully, we stayed only one night—but it was the worst accommodation of my life. The next morning, I noticed several insect bites on my arm that resembled bedbug bites. I can’t confirm the source, but given the state of the hotel, I strongly suspect it. My arm is still itchy and marked days later.
The most shocking part: $ 270 for a single night in such unsanitary place

The rooms were clean. The staff were friendly& helpful. The neighborhood was noisy & in a slum. Lots of homeless people, dalapidated buildings. The neighborhood felt very unsafe. Parking was not safe. The pictures on the Expedia website were VERY misleading. Very disappointed and glad it was for only one night.

For the moderate price it was OK plus. A fine place for an in-transit overnight. We didn’t do much except eat and drink at the on-site brew pub which is highly rated and was good. We liked their very genuine and Canadian Poutine. We slept quite well in spite of noise from bar and busy street traffic. There’s a wide variety of Asian restaurants in the area. WiFi is fine. Cleanliness is fine. The staff is nice and helpful.

Hotel Waldorf was nice hotel little load lots of charm to it. Major issue we had was there is no elevator so we had to haul all luggage up to the second floor room room condition was good for an older hotel had old amenities we needed. There’s a restaurant/nightclub blow which was loud late at night, but not too bad front desk. Staff was very helpful. We ate lunch in the restaurant and that was good. The hotels located right on the main bus line so we took the bus from the train stop over there to the hotel.

Staff were awesome. Very friendly and helpful. The location, despite not being in the best area, was perfect. Convenient to get to things nearby. The amenities attached to the hotel were also a nice touch. Although our room was tiny, we agreed we would stay again!
6.0 / 10.0
In fairness to the hotel, they did send a message after I had already booked and paid for the property warning that there was a bar/nightclub directly below. Unfortunately, I did not check my Expedia messages until after my stay. It was the least expensive hotel I could find in Vancouver that offered parking. But, it is definitely located in a sketchy area and I did not feel safe walking around and I worried about my car all night because the parking lot is not secured. The staff were outstanding as were the servers in the bar/restaurant/nightclub. However, I was up all night with the loud music and thumping from the restaurant nightclub below, and when that finally ended, my room was right on the street and I got to listen to drag racer exhaust cars going up and down all night long. The room itself was great, but the overall experience was not. It would’ve been worth paying twice the amount of money for the next cheapest hotel in Vancouver.
