Very happy stay at Hotel 81 Osaka.
Service. Better service than excellent. The staff was all around helpful, especially Jacky and the hotel manager, Marcus. Helped with 4 am departure - with organizing many pieces of luggage the evening before and the taxi. And the Arrival Card for Malaysia which had some glitches. The friendliness, helpfulness and cheerfulness makes it a very pleasant stay.
Amenities. It’s a budget hotel so don’t expect a swimming pool, meeting rooms, etc. The hotel is well maintained though, very clean and the airconditioning is great (Singapore is hot).
Location. Well located. Central. 300 metres to MRT (subway), 100 metres to bus stop. Take the bus right to the subway station. Next to Tiong Bahru Market food centre(200metrrs) which is one of Singapore’s celebrated food centres serving some very sought after foods (by Singaporeans). Small eateries (many) with great food patronized by locals. Heritage buildings all around. Less than a mile from Chinatown and $10-15 taxi ride to Orchard Road (cheaper by subway).
Will definitely go back again next time I am in Singapore.

Always friendly warm and inviting staff here. Super close to tiong bahru market hawker and amazing food and beverage options in the area. Convenience store next door is super handy.
