    After having stayed for 2 out of 3 nights, I returned to find that my room had been emptied and given to someone else. No notice, no attempt to contact me, no help in finding another hotel late at night, which was difficult and costly. What happened to Fielding, which I had had good experience with in the past?

    There is a warm welcome at the Fielding Hotel, tucked away near the Opera House in Covent Garden. I messed up the booking and asked for a double instead of a twin, the staff promptly and cheerfully changed it for us. Reception staff were equally accommodating. The room was very clean and welcoming. Bear in mind there's no lift, which did not bother us but may be an issue for some.

    After having stayed for 2 out of 3 reserved and paid nights, I returned to find that my room had been emptied and given to another guest. No notice. No attempt to contact me. No assistance in finding another hotel late at night, which was difficult and cost me an additional 200EUR on top of the inconvenience.
