I normally stay at Hilton’s, the Middle Eight was far superior in every way and makes Hilton look like Butlins.

500 pounds for no sleep in a stifling hot room the night before a critical meeting, no discount or anything offered.
Room itself small and unimpressive for a 5 star hotel, even a central one (have stayed in other central London hotels that were much better.)

This hotel is an ok place to stay on the outskirts of Covent Garden. In reality it's more in the Holborn neighborhood. It's close to a tube station which is good, but I'm not sure what made this hotel 5 stars. By American standards this is more of a 3.5-4 star hotel. My biggest issue with this hotel was the staff, who showed little to no interest in us or our stay. We had questions on several occasions which went unanswered, and also twice we asked for something to be brought to the room which required multiple calls to the front desk and hours of waiting. Highly doubtful I'd stay here again unfortunately.
