I rarely leave negative reviews, but my stay at this hotel was unfortunately quite disappointing, despite the location being very convenient. To start, the receptionist Marcello(Marcel) took a photo of our passports with his personal cellphone which we thought was unusual. Also, he was very rude and unapproachable. When we did ask for help, he was unprofessional and dismissive. Therefore when we noticed our safe wasn’t working, we didn’t feel comfortable asking him for more help. The room had a strange odour especially in the bathroom. Also, the shutters could not be adjusted and the room had no natural light. Overall, the lack of professionalism was frustrating and disappointing, and we wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

Our room was on the fourth floor and was small. The room had several broken items: the bathroom pocket doors were very hard to close from the inside, we had to help each other, soap holder in the shower kept falling off, bedside table had a broken leg, and the safe's batteries were dead. We also had minimal shelving/closet space. The view of the Duomo was obstructed by the roof as we were on the attic level.

Great location on the square. The B&B is conveniently located and you can walk to all sightseeing attractions. My room overlooked the squre, but I found the noises of the people below to be charming. @ 7 am the bells ringing.

We left this hotel 30 minutes after checking in due to a deeply uncomfortable experience. The front desk staff made multiple inappropriate comments about marriage and roles within a marriage, which felt invasive and unprofessional. The room was bare bones and extremely outdated, including the bedding. The hotel itself is in an extremely loud environment, and the photos made it appear much nicer than it actually was. The experience was unsettling and disappointing from the moment we checked in. When I asked for a refund I was told I should have gone to management earlier about the inappropriate comments (we left right away and there was only 1 person on property) and even after stating we were checking out early we were still charged for the full original stay. I would not recommend this property.

location maybe excellent as it is very walkable. Room is hot and I requested if we can turn on air conditioner but staff said there is a law that prohibits to turn on aircon not until 1st of May, He suggested to open window but because it is in the main square that it is noisy when you open window. It's difficult to sleep. **only two thin pillow ** hope to have chair or even just a small stool (no place to sit) ** room hot and noisy

This property is not a hotel, it is just a building recycled into rooms for tourists without any attempt of providing good service for paying customers. If you book this place you are expected to make arrangements with the people in charge, tell them when you are planning to arrive and fix an appointment in order to check in and get access to the room you paid in advance, As soon as I understood this, I tried to cancel my booking but all my attempts were disregarded by both the people at Soggiorno Battistero and Expedia itself, even if I was a VIP customer. The information in the Expedia website is misleading, plain false bit apparently they don't care much, even if you let them know about it.

I will admit that I am sort of a “hotel snob” and judge hotels at a high standard, so here’s an honest review with the pro’s and con’s: PRO’s: the view’s of the square are AMAZING. The balcony view is great. Also, just about everything you need and want is minutes away. We were able to walk to museum’s, squares, shopping, etc. within literal minutes. CON’s: The room is NOT up to my standards. Yes, the building is hundreds of years old, but the bedding was old and had multiple stains all over it, including the couch. There were hairs (yes, medium size black and gray hairs; and my whole family has blonde hair so it wasn’t ours) in all four beds. There was an alive silverfish bug in my daughter’s bed. And the breakfast was okay, but more like a Best Western and not the breakfast shown or described (it was cereal, yogurt, muffins and fruit. The cappuccino machine was cool though). Lastly, this is out of the hotels control, but because of the “night life” on the square, you can hear people drinking and laughing until about two in the morning. Again, I’m not docking that on the hotel because it’s not their fault, but you should be aware. I’m giving 5 stars for the location, and 2 stars for the hotel itself (so we’ll say a total of 3 stars). Just a fully honest review. Would I stay again? My wife says “no”, but my kids said “yes” (daughter doesn’t know about the silverfish) :-)

Check in is on the 4 th floor. Once we finally found the reception area, the employee who checked us in went above and beyond to be helpful. Gave us a map with recommendations and brought a complementary bottle of wine and glasses to our room. Very friendly. Our suite had an excellent view and plenty of space for our family of 6. Tons to see within walking distance.

The view was absolutely breathtaking as the hotel is right in front of the cathedral. However, being in such a famous location, it was extremely noisy even at dawn, making it hard to sleep. On top of that, the room's heating system was also quite loud. But despite all this, the stunning view made it all worth it. The staff was friendly, and the simple yet satisfying breakfast was a nice touch.

The view to the Duomo is incredible. I stayed during Christmas and New Years. There were a lot of tourists even though it is off season. There is a lot of Italian merry making in the wee hours. This did not bother me since most of the time it was happy noise. I already miss the sounds of horse hooves on cobblestone, churchbells and opera man. The staff are incredibly helpful and knowlegeble. Special kudos to Marcel and Gilles. Everyone there works very hard for you to have a nice stay.
