Hôtel Fenua Mata'i'oa

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Fenua Maita'i'oa! The room was beautiful, very clean, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated having Netflix and Amazon Prime available for relaxing in the evenings. The location was also very convenient...close to a grocery store and easy to get around. The kitchenette setup was perfect with an egg maker, kettle for hot water, fridge, microwave, dishes, and silverware. The cat on the property was absolutely wonderful and added such a charming touch to the experience 😊 Overall, this was a great hotel with excellent amenities, comfort, and hospitality. We would definitely stay here again!

I am very torn what to write. The whole place is a piece of art when it comes to how it looks and how all the details are designed. But then you also feel like you can’t really use it because functionality is limited. It is also hard to keep the room clean, if there so many details/knickknacks standing around. The location is great, the open area with sun lounges at the water too (besides there being a security camera positioned right by the sunbeds), you can see so many fishes snorkeling right in front of the hotel. The bed was very comfy. Water pressure could be better. Cleanliness could be a bit better, there is dust and spiderwebs in the lamps and decorations. You can hear everything from the other suites, so I guess they can hear you, too. The lady at reception is quite grumpy and direct. Other guests said the same thing when we talked to them, so it wasn’t just us. I somehow liked the place and still wouldn’t come back, very mixed feelings.

Our stay was wonderful! The hotel staff is very friendly and everything was super clean. The whole hotel, beginning from the garden, over to the house and the pier had lovely details wherever you look. No matter if its plants or flowers, deco elemants or art. At the pier where sharks, rays and lots of colurful fishes. The two hotel cats where also very friendly! The breakfast had to be booked on top, which we didnt do. There was enough kitchen equipment for a light breakfast in the rooms. We totally recommend staying there!

The location of this place is incredible. We saw so many sting rays and sharks right on the patio. There was a great little shop right nearby with awesome pastries and premade food. The decor of the place makes you feel like you’re on a magical retreat. They are very welcoming and give you delicious fancy tiki drinks with fruit and flower garnishes when you check in. The garden is so beautiful and well maintained. My only issue was at night there were thousands of ants on the ceiling and in the bathroom. Luckily we booked a place with two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so we went into the other room when the ants came out at night. Despite the ants I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a special experience that you will remember forever.
