During the check-in the receptionist don’t speak English, everything other is perfect.

I had a fantastic view of the mountain from my room! The hotel was quiet, as there were few people in the guest house at the time. The hotel restaurant and the restaurant at the hotel across the street provided great, convenient dinner options. Breakfast was also okay, served in a continental style with an egg cooked to order. Although the hotel is located outside Salzburg proper, it is conveniently close to two different bus stops. It was very easy to take the bus to and from Salzburg. Buses begin early and run late. I learned from a tour guide on one of my day trips that tourists receive free public transport, which the hotel should provide documentation for. I would ask them about that at the time of booking. I never received mine, and when I found out, it was the last day. The room was nice with a nice balcony. I enjoyed sitting out there at sunset and sunrise. There is no air conditioning, so the room was a bit warm when I stayed in late August, but you can open the windows, which helped. A fan would have been fantastic. Check-in was a little odd. I think I arrived on a day the office is technically closed, so I had to call a number and someone came over to meet me for check-in after a few minutes. If you can get one of the rooms with a view of the mountain, this is an excellent hotel choice. I would stay again.

One of the best Gasthof’s I’ve stayed at. The condition was excellent, must have just been renovated. Lovely and large rooms. Amazing local breakfast. I’d definitely recommend this place if you need a stopover or stay - both in winter and summer. This is exactly what you should expect from a good Gasthof. It’s not a 5 star hotel. But this is amazing too.

The hotel room was very nice and comfortable. Don’t be alarmed when you checkin and you’re directed across a small intersection to the building where the hotel rooms reside. I liked the convenience of transportation where, across the same small intersection, you can access bus routes that will take you easily to Salzburg. I really enjoyed the hotel, where back in the main building, there is a restaurant with great breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There is not much to do around the area so traveling back to Salzburg, which is next door, was what I did often. It is a nice area though to get outdoors and enjoy the scenery and a great walk. Also, next door is a cable tram that you can take to the top of nearby mountain which was beautiful. I would definitely stay here again in a future visit to Austria.

The reservation was made through the website knowing that I was staying at the hotel whose photos appear on the website. In practice, we stayed in the new wing that is almost detached from the original hotel. It's a shame that the subject was not specified in the order confirmation. We were disappointed.

The staff and food were excellent. Peaceful place just a couple miles from Salzburg and about 9 miles from Berchesgaden. Literally a 2 minute walk to the Untersberg cable car. Underground and above ground free parking. Am coming back in 2 weeks for another stay.

I really love this cosy hotel. It is beautifully located, a short bike ride from Salzburg. As a guest you can rent a bike for free. The hotel is nice and clean, rooms are comfy and the staff are nice. I love the breakfast. Wifi is good. I will definitely pick this hotel again for my job trips to that region.

Staying in Gasthof Schorn for our first trip to Salzburg - we loved it! Loved the location, the place, the food and the service! Location - it's a bit outside the city which makes it very easy to get to by car. (There's a really good bus connection into the city) The scenery took our breaths away when we opened the curtain in the morning! Service - nice and very helpfull staff; went out of their way to prepare dinner for us after a fairly late arrival on the first day. Food - amazing spread at breakfast, all very tasty. Loved the place, will be very happy to go back to Salzburg and stay there again.

An excellent choice for anyone visiting Salzburg or Berchtesgaden. Not a luxury hotel, but has clean, well appointed rooms with superb service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was the best it could be. Most staff spoke very good English, but those that didn’t made certain to immediately find someone to help. Breakfast was excellent and included in our room rate. We ate dinner at the restaurant and both of us enjoyed our meal. WiFi, also included in our room rate was generally good and reliable. The hotel has rooms in 2 separate buildings. The main building is the original hotel that houses the restaurant and bar. The other building just across the street has newer more spacious rooms and also has free above ground and under ground parking. Although the hotel is at a busy intersection, our room which faced one of the streets was quiet. The hotel is within 200 meters of bus stop 25 that serves central old town Salzburg. Several other busses also stop in the area. The Untersburgbahn cable car which was closed during our stay is also within 200 meters. The hotel sells the Salzburg Card at the same rate as online, but gives you physical card that can be used immediately rather than the voucher which must be validated in Salzburg. The hotel is also convenient to Berchtesgaden area attractions. We highly recommend Gasthof Schorn and will stay there again when we visit the area.
