My family of 4 stayed here recently and I have to say I’m surprised to see the Hilton name on this hotel. Tattered, faded flags hang out front as you arrive. Front desk staff were pleasant enough. The room (2 queens) was small with no real space to store or hang anything except one little closet. Fine for a couple of days, but after a week we were so sick of tripping over our suitcases. There were only ever 3 towels, we had to repeatedly ask for a 4th. The beds were the worst I have ever slept on. They felt like they’d been slept on by a thousand elephants before—saggy and creaky and just awful. Thin, cheap bedding. Hand lotion container that is usually screwed to the wall in the bathroom was just dangling there—bracket still attached to the bottle, holes in the wall. No hook on bathroom door (there was a bracket where it should have been, but the hook was gone), so again no place to hang anything. Bring earplugs as the halls are noisy (earplugs did the trick though). This is not a room to spend time in. Sleep, and get out. Breakfast was included with our stay. My advice? Just budget breakfast into your day and stay elsewhere. The breakfast consists of melon, pineapple and cottage cheese (as long as you’re there early enough—they run out), sad dry little pastries and bagels, some low quality awful yogurt, a couple of cereals, appalls and oranges. Oh, and really bad oatmeal. No hot options. Absolutely horrible coffee and a few juices. Now here’s the kicker: not everyone who stays has breakfast included, so regardless of whether you do or don’t, they present you with a bill to sign at the end of your meal and they expect tips. So I ignored the tip line the first time because it’s a self-serve breakfast—I literally had ZERO service. The next time they handed the bill to my husband and boldly circled the tip line. I believe they brought us some waters once (there is no water anywhere unless you ask). We tipped $5 a couple of times but then just stopped going as the staff started to be rude. The last day there we decided to grab a quick bite as we didn’t want to waste time finding a breakfast spot. They literally ignored our table the whole time (we had no cutlery, napkins, waters etc). I got them myself. Yet they still gave us attitude about tipping. The US has the most outrageous tipping culture. Direct your rage at your employer if you aren’t making a living wage! It’s not up to the public to supplement your income at every turn! The crap “continental breakfast” was billed at $18.95 per person —- like did they seriously expect us to tip normally on what they were calling an $80 bill?! It’s difficult to explain how lacking and just BAD this breakfast was—no one in their right mind would pay that for this. Anyway, this hotel is a 2-star at best. If you get a crazy cheap deal it’s not your worst option, but I cannot recommend it, nor will we stay here again.
