Hawksmoor Guest House

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room was clean and lovely, the staff were friendly and kind, and the breakfast was very filling and delicious. Also, the hotel has spacious parking, and it is not too far from Windermere station, the lake, or many restaurants and shops. Each is about a 10-15-minute walk away. I would strongly recommend this hotel as a comfortable base for enjoying the Lake District. The only slightly disappointing point was that we were not informed in advance about a room change due to a facilities issue. Although the staff handled it kindly and offered us a more expensive room, I would have appreciated being told and given the option to choose in advance. Overall, it was a great stay and we really enjoyed it. We would definitely stay here again!

clean room but small. excellent breakfast, easy walk to restsurants

Room 7 was very nice and beds are comfy. The house is very clean and the breakfast was nice and big. Only thing i would say is that around the bath was a bit black and moldy in parts (a pet hate of mine) . Other than that, a nice stay, and id definently return

My wife and I have stayed here a few times now and I've no doubt we will again. We always stay in room 4 on the second floor. The only problem being that the shower door doesn't close properly but everything else about the room is good. The staff were as always excellent. The cooked to order breakfast was very nice and with a decent choice. The Hotel is pretty much halfway between Bowness and Windermere village with its own car park, meaning a walk to either is an easy ten minutes.
