We called ahead and were told our room would be ready for 3pm. We arrived at 15:05, only to be told it wasn’t ready. We were advised we’d get a call when it was, but no call ever came. By 4pm we checked again ourselves and were then told the room was ready.
Unfortunately, when we got to the room, it wasn’t the one we had paid for. We went back to reception, and although the staff member who helped us handled it well, it meant it was nearly two hours from arrival before we finally got into the correct room. With a heavily pregnant wife, this was particularly frustrating and exhausting. Not a good start to our stay.
Mick, however, is a real credit to the company and stood out during our stay.
The room itself was generally clean, although there was a noticeable build-up of dust and previous tenants wrappers under the consoles.
On a positive note, the food was great, the food service and staff were very good, and the staff overall were friendly and helpful.
It’s just a shame that the check-in process and room mix-up really dampened what could have been a much better start to our stay. The grounds and facilities are well maintained.

Stunning property, the refurbishment is fantastic, modern whilst traditional. All staff were friendly. Room was a great size, nice and cosy as it was cold outside. Food in restaurant top class. Great amenities - gorgeous spa and pool, fully equipped modern gym, cinema room and billiards room. Will definitely be back!
