Arrived with a tight deadline for a big sporting occasion, to find 10 people queueing to check in - this took 20 mins, this is my third stay in a few months ( with my wife). Then we were hit for £50 lock on bank card linked they said (£10) to parking for our car… per night - wasnt there last time we stayed -they could provide no receipt for this lock and no confirmation that it had been removed when we checked out “ its the system” nonsense! Also was no prior notification - the young couple checking in the queue in front of us were on a budget staying for 4 nights and distraught at having *** pre authorised on their card as this was almost their entire discretionary budget- becoming then unavailable to them. Then , when we tried to check in, we said we would pay as we go, told not not an option to pay as you go! Such a shame as we like this hotel staff are clearly under massive stress by company management - avoid until whoever owns this hotel treats staff with respect and rewards them for their evident professionalism and courtesy and under no doubt difficult and incompetent and unsupportive senior management circumstances .

weve stayed here a lot - last stay had to wait 25 mins at cjeck in as queue was massive - understaffed it seems, wevwere then late for our event. Also brought in a stupid credit card pre authorisation which they say is mandatory - even if you gave already paid and will pay as you go. This then takes 5 days to be released from your card. Staff refused to check us in even we had already paid - many guests were rightfully angry about this and the long wait to check in. Young couple in front of us were on a fight budget had paid and didnt have the credit - huge stooshy. Staff were completely inflexible. This couple were bery upset. We said not staying here any more if that is how you treat people!!
