There is no onsite reception, just a ridiculously complicated online check-in which should remotely open the door. But I couldn't get through the garden gate even. Finally an old lady showed up who did not speak English and I don't speak Italian so we stood around for a good 25 mins before the room door miraculously unlocked. After a very late night I was woken up at 8.30 am by a cleaner who didn't speak English either but indicated I should phone the hotel operators, Everytime I tried, the phone was answered but then put down on me. Someone then phoned the cleaner and I was able to speak with the operators using that connection. They wanted a new card number which I was obliged to give even though I had no idea why the one I had used when I booked was not sufficient. It was a mess from start to finish.

Avoid!!! Confusing check-in involved many, online documents and an off-site person who could not open the entrance gate remotely. Also, they did not know the difference between a key and a card needed for various applications. This modern and generic building is for short-term stays and run by a business, not a local. The small, rooftop terrace and common kitchens with vending machines were a bonus, and cleaning was thorough. The room with the detached bathroom had no air conditioning, even though that was advertised. The room is up 37 stairs on the 3rd floor, which was not advertised. The wifi never worked in the room, although I asked for 3 days for a resolution. The room is very dark inside at night, so hard to read. Terrible room! From the train station, google maps does not show you have to go up/down a hill of stairs, so it was hard with rolling and heavy luggage. Located in a residential area with no shops nearby, so it is isolated from the center by a 15 minute walk. Stay away from this mismanaged, corporate lodging!

Check-in via phone - a bid complicated . The room was more than very basic. Separate bathroom on the other side of the corridor, past the entrance to the common room. The worst first: mold infestation - in the bathroom and in the bedroom. Room had no desk to work from. Only three clothes hangers in the closet, theoretically enough for two people—and no hooks for hanging clothes properly. Only one plug on one side, which has to be used either for the night light or the charger. On the other side of the bed, there's neither one nor the other. The walls in the bedroom are dirty, in addition to being moldy. Be sure to bring an adapter, as the few Italian plugs in the room are too narrow to accommodate a laptop charger.

Firstly it is not clear that a "standard"room has the bathroom outside but it is Expedia's fault. However, 24hr reception is not correct, had to wait 15 minutes on the phone and no one answered so had to call another property of the group to gain access. The external bathroom was very cold, the room adjacent to common area with very noisy vending machines so I did not sleep a wink. In the room no light switch near the bed, the bedside lamps present but there was no socket to use them with. Poorly maintained as the paint was peeling off in several areas.

Location was good but check in was difficult over the phone. I was disappointed to find our bathroom was not in our room and was in fact down the hall. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, there was no mirror in the room and no plug sockets next to the bed. The kitchen was clean but there was no wine opener or chopping boards.

And the only reason we booked here in the first place was expecting for a bed and breakfast. Other than that, ALL ready good.

New building, wonderful staff, free parking right outside, very clean, very good ac, great balcony. We had room on top floor (no elevator), our room had a detached bathroom where you have to walk through a shared kitchen/living room. The other room had an attached bathroom; was not aware if that detail. Thankfully the other couple were in room or gone and during our second day there was no one in that room. Overall not a big deal but you need to be aware. Location was really nice and quite, ne aware 10 minute walk to downtown.

This is a private house with serviced apartments. Each has a common area with kitchen and you get private room with access to this area and nice balcony. Apartments are fully furnished (coffee machine, TV, Wi-Fi...) and completely new. It's very comfortable and since Gorizia is small town it's quiet, relaxing and pleasant to walk around. Due to it's location on the Slovenia / Italy border apartments are great stay for travelers between two countries who want comfortable and relaxing sleepover. Just keep in mind they charge SEPARATE HIDDEN FEE which almost doubles hotels.com listing price.

I must say that we waited for way too long to check into this place. Staff treated us as if we were not welcome and spoke barely any english. HORRIBLE ROOM! We believe that sheets might have not been changed at all and smell of place was really bad. After realising that room is in poor condition, we asked for changed and were refused. Altogether, very disappointing.

We got two rooms for our family here the evening between Ljubljana and Venice. We were very pleasantly surprised! The lady that checked us in, Julia, was very friendly and helpful, even recommending a great restaurant (she has a list - go to the one marked #1!). The rooms were very comfortable and immaculately clean, and a great value for the money! Plenty of hot water, good wifi, lovely breakfast in the morning. Only thing that was missing was washcloths, like every other European hotel - pack your own. Highly recommended.

This is a difficult place to rate. This is not exactly an hotel, it's more like a large modern house with multiple rooms and apartments. It's located in a small town in North East Italy (on the border with Slovenia). The house is run by a very nice lady who is doing her best to be very helpful and warm. The house is a bit hard to find because thinking it's an hotel, one expects a big sign. There is just a small plaque on the wall and you can't see it driving around. Unfortunately she speaks very little English. Breakfast is less than basic and quite disappointing. The studio we rented was quite nice, with a nice shower and a good bed. TV is only Italian. The place was very clean and quite modern. The city on a Sunday evening was quite boring.

Pros: Large, clean, private bath, 5 minute walk to town, quiet neighborhood. Cons: Mattress was really, REALLY firm. I actually like them a bit firm, but this is like a wood plank. I actually hate to complain about anything because it was so nice and the host was very lovely.
