This is a very special property. Upon check in, we were told the legend of Pedro and Innes, a tragic and romantic story that allegedly took place here. This set the tone for our exploration of this grand and historic accommodation. The public lounges are exquisite, and the library is full of old-world charm. The gardens are moody and extensive, well worth a stroll.
We dined in both their restaurants, and the service and food were flawless.
Our reason for visiting Coimbra was to see the historic university. And although the university is exceptional, this hotel stole the show!

Enjoyed the stay. Walkable to the city. Staff gave us suggestions of what to do/where to eat. Food at the hotel was very good. I would recommend it.

We loved our stay here! Beautiful property and nicely updated rooms while maintaining the history of it. The warm pool, sauna and steam room were also really enjoyed!
