    First, I have comments that don't pertain to this particular hotel but are issues with the city of Santiago and booking rooms. I accidentally booked the room for one person instead of two and within a day realized this error. I realized this two days before arriving and could not change the online booking. When arriving, we learned of the monstrous policy that we could not add my wife to the room even for a fee. Unlike most other countries where a two person room can be modified upon arrival. As such we were put in a desperate situation and had to last minute find my wife a second room at a different property. As you can imagine, only the most expensive places still had availability so it cost an extra *** and a ten minute walk with baggage. The staff person was not sympathetic and said it is what is is. Spanish hotel workers could be more focused on customer service. All of that aside, I would hesitate to recommend this hotel. The location is indeed perfect as it's right next to everything in Santiago but also off the main strreet and so quite quiet. Yet my room had several major issues. Most importantly, no air con or airflow. The room opened into a shared "courtyard" about one meter by one meter. This had zero airflow and no view of anything but another room window. The room was like a sauna. Paying to stay in Hell was not my intention and I'm surprised they even rent the rooms out when they are dangerously hot. The provided electrical fan was a joke. Second, the room was not clean. It was clearly not cleaned thoroughly and felt more like a long term apartment than a paid hotel. There were spit marks on the mirror. There was dirt on the floor. It was the grossest place I stayed in Spain. They also used a very allergenic cleaning material that left my skin itchy. Overall I would not stay here or recommend it for the reasons I've mentioned.
