The residence is in a quiet peaceful location reached via a windy hillly road. In the 4 nights we stayed in early September, we saw, from the large windows of our rooms, clear views of the hills and mountain, starry nights, misty cloudy views and even a lightening show. All spectacular. The two rooms were spacious enough and clean to our liking, affordable, the staff friendly and Chamonix a half hour drive away.

Nice receptionist and check-in. The location is calm, but to reach there from the highway is a pain. Room was small and simple. The breakfast was surprisingly good.

Booked this hotel because after a long car journey we wanted somewhere that had a restaurant. Got there and was then told restaurant was closed. Not good enough

The hotel was clean and tidy, the rooms are comfortable, although this is a large hotel it was very peaceful even at meal times. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would fully recommend. Excellent value for money. We hope to visit again soon.

What a great quiet place to stay, away from everything, beautiful, peaceful and nice. Rooms were small but we only needed the room for sleeping so it was not a problem. Showers were great, place was clean. Loved the local surrounding area!

Great location, but let down by the internal fittings. The shower in our room was lethal with one of our group slipping in the shower causing injury.

Came to Chamonix to ski at Mont Blanc and stayed at le Fontenay. Had a lovely stay but visitors should be warned that the hotel is at the top of a mountain, with steep winding roads (often without guardrails) in a region that gets heavy snow all the time. Visitors should not attempt to go without good snow tires and chains.

Room was pretty small but functional. It didn't cost us a fortune to stay within 10 kms from Chamonix, where the similar accommodation would be 5 times more expensive. Both our GPS had problem locating the place using the address but gave good directions if chosen from POI list. You need a car to get there. Great view of the valley if the weather is clear. Accommodation very basic but everything worked well. The only negative thing I can mention - dirty floor in the room, the soles became black momentarily.

Large older place.We ended up booking a Studio because ordinary rooms supposedly full but place empty when we arrived and approx 6 vehicles in carpark night we stayed. Sort of place that needs people to bring it alive particularly given the size of the place.

The room was facing the mountains, thus we enjoyed great view and natural beauty. The Hotel is located in the middle of nowhere, no shops, restaurants or any recreational place near by. The nearest place for shopping or eating was Passy Town. Up the mountain there was the launching place for paragliding. If you love solitude, this is the best place to be. In the first week of June there were not many residents, thus the place was deserted. I loved it.
