A lovely quirky apartment with a friendly very reactive host.

The keys were easy to find by following the instructions to the letter but the courtyard is not lit so you will need a torch if you arrive after dark! Lovely quirky little flat, very clean and with just what you need for your stay. We were able to arrive at 9pm with a ready made dish and sit down to eat at 9:30 having found everything we needed. The instructions were very clear and the WiFi worked well. All in all an excellent stay though unfortunately very short!

It’s probably nothing to do with the host but the street door to the building and the staircase could do with some tidying/ cleaning. The flat is lovely thought- clean and tidy and wonderfully quirky. The host was very reactive and friendly and I would recommend a stay at this flat, if only for the experience of meeting “Albert”, the resident soldier, who was very quiet throughout our stay.

Well located and with parking

Well located near the old church near to the boulangerie and market. Parking provided.

The bed wasn't provided with a duvet, only one thin blanket. Fortunately we found another blanket so we were warm in bed but it was a bit stressful as we arrived late from the ferry.

Good, convenient overnight stay at the ferry port

Beautiful quirky property, clean and well maintained. Close proximity to all local amenities, restaurants, bars, bakeries etc. Not far from the ferry port

Parking wasn’t clear where we could park, number on property was small so we spent some time finding the correct door

Great location and clean property with a museum- like atmosphere with war memorabilia. Good flexibility to sleep 4 people.

D day stay

Clean and comfortable, everything we needed. fantastic location, close to bakery, cake shop and bar etc. The children loved all the quirky artifacts. Even found some card games that we played during tea (pizza bought from across the road). We would definatley stay again for longer next time. Would recommend!

It was a little tricky to find but the host was fantastic at communicating.

Easy to collect the keys. Great location to take the ferry in the morning. Unusual decoration inside the appartment. Comfortable and everything that we needed.

We only stayed for an evening and night so didn’t use all the facilities. It was nice being in the heart of the village

It was well equipped and in a good location and the D-Day theme is inventively displayed.

The wartime stretcher next to the bed is a heavy item not secured to the wall, similarly the huge spanner on the narrow ledge in the stairwell. It could accidentally be knocked off by a visitor carrying bags. I couldn’t make the hot water work in the morning but I’m guessing that there must have been some switch somewhere that I’d omitted to switch on.

Perfect location, beautiful well-decorated apartment, friendly hosts. Amazing place.

The location of this apartment is excellent - right in the centre of Ouistreham, in the old town. The beach is walking distance, and there are lots of local shops and cafes right on your doorstep. The ferry port is less than a 5 minute drive, which is ideal. The apartment itself is incredible - it is like stepping back in time, it is just amazing! The decor is perfect - period furniture and decorations, complemented by modern facilities like the shower, cooker etc. There is so much effort that has been put into the apartment, it really is wonderful. The bedroom is very big with a lovely view of the church. The bed is one of the comfiest we have ever had in a holiday apartment, and the area was so peaceful and quiet, we had a great sleep each night. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming, communication was excellent and replies were fast and helpful. We would love to return here to stay again, as it ticked every box. Superb.

An excellent stay in a great setting

Our hosts, Pauline and Sebastien, provided all necessary information in advance and made it easy to access the property. The accommodation was excellent and comfortable, including the sofa bed. As the purpose of our trip was to visit D-Day sites, the setting was ideal.

Appartement bien décoré avec de nombreux objets de 39/45 , grande chambre et douche neuve .

l'accès à la chambre au premier est un peu sportif , il faudrait envisager une rampe ( corde?) pour se tenir

Découverte des plages de Normandie

L’emplacement en centre-ville, l’appartement est relativement calme

L’escalier qui monte à la chambre et la salle de bains est très étroit, le lit est moyennement confortable, la ruelle qui mène à l’appartement est très sale et malodorante à cause des pigeons et de l’humidité, la décoration est originale mais évidemment pas très chaleureuse

La décoration est sympa et pas chargée du tout, manque juste les assiettes vintage 😊, Albert est parfait. Facile à trouver. Très propre.

Pour les personnes qui dorment ds le canapé, difficile de dormir, trop de lumière la nuit, surtout la petite lumière bleue sous le chauffe-eau qui est gênante, peut être possible de la cacher,c'est vraiment le seul point négatif, le reste est parfait, chambre aucun bruit. Serrure du bas un peu difficile 😊

On a adoré l'ambiance, la décoration. Le fait que ce soit un duplex aussi. Très agréable et lumineux. Mes filles avaient peur d'Albert au début mais, petit à petit, on a bien rigolé avec lui ! Très bel appartement !

Le bruit des pigeons et leurs fientes qui jonchaient la ruelle. Le bruit des cloches dès 7h du matin. Tout ça n'est pas du fait des propriétaires mais on aurait aimé le savoir avant. Surtout pour les cloches 😆

Originale e gradevole l'idea di ricreare un appuntamento degli anni 40, con numerosi oggetti d'epoca e delle scale in legno consumate dall'uso. Il rumore della scala quando usata e i passi al piano superiore sono il top per immergersi nell'atmosfera. Il bagno ristrutturato, moderno e pulito.

Nous avons absolument tout aimé !!! La décoration est incroyable , très pensée et soignée dans les moindres détails . L’appartement est également parfaitement agencé et comporte tout ce qui est nécessaire. Les hôtes sont aux petits soins . Appartement très propre et bien décoré de quoi nous immerser , très bien placé pas loin du mémorial de Caen, de la pointe du Hoc, des cimetières également, bien équipé ( jeux pour enfants, de très beaux ouvrages) , très bon accueil On recommande réellement.

A refaire

Emplacement au calme dans le bourg de Ouistreham, nous avons mis 15' sans nous presser pour rejoindre l'av de la mer, sinon à coté de l'église des vélos électriques et trottinettes en location pas chères. L'aménagement est atypique ,il y a un escalier pour arriver à l'appartement et un escalier intérieur pour accéder à la chambre et à la SDB et WC. Tout est nickel et propre et lits faits à l'arrivée.

L'appartement est conforme à la description; bien équipé, très propre, décoration très originale et très réussie, bravo ! Pauline est très agréable, réactive et à l'écoute car elle m'a adressé un sms le lendemain pour savoir si tout s'était bien passé. Super !! La literie est confortable et la salle de bain satisfaisante. La remise des clés peut se faire à toute heure ce qui est bien pratique.

Comme trop souvent, les notes ou commentaires sont excessifs selon moi; en effet, l'appartement est dans un environnement quelconque et il n'y a aucune vue agréable car donnant sur les toits. Pas de parking ce qui suppose de trouver une place dans la rue ou à proximité. Pas non plus adapté aux personnes à mobilité réduite car il faut monter un escalier pour y accéder et à nouveau un autre escalier pour la chambre qui est située à l'étage.
