Dukes House - first floor apartment

The place itself is wonderful. It’s clean and very well equipped, it’s in a great location for exploring the area. The facilities were excellent, and once inside it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay!

The biggest drawback (and something I feel is very important for future guests to know) is the parking situation. When booking, it was advertised Free Parking. After enquiring, I was told we had to park at the Link Road car park. This is a 10 minute walk away and costs £11 per 24 hours adding around £55 to a five day stay. For us, travelling with toddlers, this made things really difficult. At nap times when we returned to the apartment my partner had to drop me and the children off, then go park and walk back, then when we were ready to leave again for the afternoon he had to do the ten minute walk back to fetch the car which really wasn’t ideal. You’re supposed to be able to offload on Duke Street, but in practice this was hard work due to traffic, so we had to stop further up the road. On top of that, if the toddlers left something in the car, it turned into a 20 minute round trip to fetch it.
