The Tobacco Loft

We absolutely loved this property. Stunning decor and provided everything we needed and more. Cannot recommend more

Even though we knew what to expect from the photos and reviews, we were still both surprised and delighted by just how quirky and beautifully finished The Tobacco Loft is. It’s perfectly formed, full of character and feels genuinely special. We’d absolutely love to stay again. The whole place was spotlessly clean and so much care and attention has clearly gone into every detail. It was lovely seeing the transformation of the property in the guest information book too. Everything you could need has been thought of, and the little welcome hamper was such a thoughtful touch. We especially loved the snug little corner for watching TV, and the bed area was supremely comfortable. Having a washer dryer and dishwasher was brilliant too. We’d been on a bit of a Yorkshire tour before arriving in Kendal and the washing machine at our previous accommodation had broken, so having one here was especially appreciated! It was also a treat having Booths within walking distance. We picked up ingredients to make pizzas one evening and, although we had a small issue with the oven overheating and switching itself off for a while, it came back on once it had cooled and the pizza function worked perfectly. It didn’t really cause us any bother and we let Alan know. We’re really looking forward to seeing how Julie and Alan’s planned new accommodation turns out and would love to come back and give that a try too. Thank you both for such a lovely and memorable stay!

The only slight issue we had was parking. As we were partway through a longer trip, we had quite a lot of luggage with us, along with everything for the doggie. The spaces directly outside were full when we arrived and remained full throughout our stay, so we had to park further up the hill and trapse backwards and forwards with everything. Once we were settled it was absolutely fine, and obviously completely outside Julie and Alan’s control, but worth a heads up for anyone staying to pack in a way that makes unloading a little easier if you can’t get a space right outside.

What a fantastic little place the Tobacco Loft is - as the listing states, it's not huge but it is perfectly formed and has been beautifully restored by the owners. The quality of the fittings is exceptional and we had everything we needed. The location is perfect and we had a really great stay.

Absolutely beautiful and quirky property located very centrally in the heart of Kendal. Incredible place, and just wonderful to stop over in. Warm and cozy with great vibes.
