LOCATION AND AMENITIES:
Our luxurious 4-star vacation apartment, featuring numerous all-inclusive amenities, is situated in a beautiful and peaceful location, very close to the center of Duhnen and the kilometer-long, fine-sand beach. Right behind the house, you can set out into the expansive natural beauty of the coastal landscape! Thanks to our on-site “subtropical” swimming pool, our vacation rental is worth a visit any time of year.

In addition, a Finnish sauna, a steam room, a children’s playground, and a table tennis room are available right in your vacation complex. To ensure you can fully relax on vacation and have everything you need, we completely refurbished and renovated our apartment in 2025 with high-quality furnishings. Among other things, you can look forward to a wood-burning stove, a renovated bathroom, a Shiatsu massage chair, a dishwasher, free internet (Wi-Fi; true DSL flat-rate internet), multiple TV sets, 2 DVD players, and a stereo system. In addition, your own beach chair, a visit to the famous Zoo am Meer, and admission to the Phänomenta science and interactive exhibition are all included in the price!

BEDROOM:
Renovated bedroom with a spacious double bed. In addition, you’ll find a flat-screen TV with cable, a Shiatsu music massage chair, a valet stand, a wellness alarm clock, a large wardrobe, and two nightstands. In the second bedroom, you’ll find, among other things, two separate single beds, a spacious closet, a radio alarm clock, and a valet stand. Blackout blinds, adjustable slatted bed frames, and comfortable spring mattresses ensure a restful night’s sleep in both bedrooms. In addition, we have placed special emphasis on high-quality, nautical-themed furnishings in both bedrooms—as well as throughout the entire apartment.

- These include free admission to the famous Zoo am Meer in Bremerhaven, including participation in the polar bear feedings and seal training sessions, which usually take place several times a day.

- Also included in the price is your own free beach chair right on the fine-sand North Sea beach in Duhne (which is available to you around the clock).

ON-SITE SWIMMING POOL, STEAM ROOM, AND FINNISH SAUNA:
The on-site “subtropical” swimming pool, with a pleasant water temperature of approximately 28 degrees, is the centerpiece of the facility and is available exclusively to vacation guests at no cost whatsoever. It measures an impressive 70 square meters and was recently completely redesigned, so you can look forward to a high-quality atmosphere. In addition, our guests have the option to use the two “sauna & relaxation areas” for a minimal fee of approximately 1–2 euros per session. Here, you’ll find two different saunas (including a relaxation room, lockers, and changing and shower facilities). One is a classic Finnish sauna (with waterfall showers), where you can enhance your sauna experience with aromatic infusions, for example, and the other is a sauna area featuring a spacious steam room.

BEACH AND RELAXATION:
In Duhnen, you’ll find beach as far as the eye can see—and practically right on your doorstep. You can reach the kilometer-long, fine-sand beach, the Wadden Sea, and the North Sea quickly and conveniently on foot from our vacation rental in about 5–7 minutes. Just walk down a side street and you’re there: right in the center of Duhnen, with its numerous beach access points. On Duhnen’s sandy beach, children and adults alike can enjoy wonderful swimming in the clean, gently sloping water. Splashing around, swimming, building sandcastles, snorkeling, playing, surfing, sailing, taking hours-long walks, or simply relaxing on the sand or in your own beach chair (included with your stay!)—the choice is yours. There’s also a special, separately designated activity beach and even a “Stadium by the Sea,” featuring various beach sports fields and a regular program of activities and events from May through September.

WADDEN SEA & OCEAN:
In addition to the long North Sea beach at Duhn, the Wadden Sea—which, by the way, is part of the world’s largest Wadden Sea—is, of course, the region’s absolute highlight. At low tide, you’ll have the unique opportunity to walk on the seabed and make interesting discoveries. A walk to the tidal creeks is especially worthwhile, where you can take a relaxing dip in the often warm water. By the way, a walk on the mudflats is exceptionally healthy and stimulates the entire body. We also highly recommend joining one of the numerous mudflat tours. These range from tours for nature lovers and family outings to “searching for clams in the mudflats.” Almost year-round, you also have the opportunity to explore the Wadden Sea by horse-drawn carriage or mudflat cart and take a trip across the seabed to the island of Neuwerk.

YOUR VACATION DESTINATION, DUHNEN:
In Duhnen, you can enjoy a relaxing beach or wellness vacation, an active sports vacation, or a fun-filled family vacation. There’s something for everyone. Thanks to the attractive and central location of your vacation rental, you’re just a few minutes’ walk from the center of Duhnen—the heart of this North Sea spa town. Here you’ll find everything a vacationer could wish for: a variety of bars, cafés, ice cream parlors, and restaurants (ranging from home-style, traditional North German, and international cuisine to luxurious fine dining), as well as numerous shops, boutiques, galleries, and souvenir stores just waiting to be discovered. The harbor and shipping have a long tradition in Cuxhaven/Duhnen and give the town its distinctive charm. Combined with its often luxurious Art Nouveau buildings, Duhnen is a high-quality and incredibly diverse vacation destination that has nevertheless managed to retain the “flair of the good old days.” We also recommend the well-known Ahoi Adventure & Seawater Spa (featuring, among other things, a large sauna area, slides, a thalasso & wellness center; various massages, beauty, and wellness treatments available) right in Duhnen.

PORT AND ATMOSPHERE—TYPICALLY NORTH GERMAN:
Cuxhaven is often called the “Gateway to the Wide World.” After all, it is home to several major ports, such as the seaport, the Amerikahafen, and the fishing harbor. Tourists are never ceased to be fascinated by the huge container ships. A stroll to the fishing boat harbor is particularly impressive, where you’ll be treated to a spectacular sight as the many crab and deep-sea fishing boats lie side by side in the harbor basin. Here you also have the opportunity to buy fish and other seafood, fresh off the boat, directly from the fishing boats! Cuxhaven also has a dock for luxury liners, from which various emigrant ships once set sail for the “New World.” Today, in addition to large container ships and the ferry to England, you can marvel at huge cruise ships like the Queen Mary II. Some of these “giant ships” are passing through on their way to Hamburg, while others dock directly in Cuxhaven and set sail from here into the wider world.

CULTURE, ENTERTAINMENT & ATTRACTIONS IN THE REGION:
There’s always something going on in Duhnen. A variety of sports activities, such as surfing, golf, horseback riding, water skiing, bowling, and more, ensure an exciting and active vacation. Even when the weather is bad, numerous cultural events keep boredom at bay. For example, Cuxhaven hosts over 3,500 (!) events a year, ranging from concerts featuring shanty choirs and sea shanties to spectacular shows, theater performances, and concerts by many renowned artists. In the summer, there are even up to three spa concerts every day. Other event highlights include, for example, the Wattfest, the world-famous Duhner Watt Race, and Summer Evenings by the Sea. Also particularly worth seeing are Fort Kugelbarke, the Windstärke 10 interactive museum, the Aeronauticum, Ritzebüttel Castle, Bederkesa Castle, the Learning & Demonstration Shipyard, the museum ship, the Natureum, the zoo right in the spa park, as well as excursions to Heligoland (duty-free shopping), Bremerhaven, Bremen, Stade, and Hamburg.

HEALTHY & RELAXED:
The climate on the North Sea coast in and around Duhnen is exceptionally healthy. The healthy, salty sea air is particularly beneficial for people with respiratory and skin problems, but the climate often has a soothing effect on muscle tension as well. Spending time on the beach or in the mudflats is therefore akin to being in a large inhalation chamber, where the many healing properties of the marine climate benefit every organ in the body. This promotes your relaxation and strengthens your immune system. You’ll notice how the healthy climate noticeably improves your personal well-being!!
