Windows inside and out could do with a clean, also historic cobwebs behind doors etc…bbq was there for us to use but it hadn’t been cleaned in a while and was mouldy so we purchased our own portable bbq. Fixtures and fittings were damaged in a number of places (light fitting in dining area had brittle components, light fitting in the master bedroom wasn’t fitted to the ceiling, plug sockets loose fitting across the property)

Nice house in an excellent location with walkable pubs and attractions. Really well appointed kitchen with loads of cooking equipment. Beds comfortable with one exception (see below).

The kitchen and bathrooms were clean but the rest wasn’t very with cob webs in the bedrooms, hair in the hallway carpet which came away in clumps when it was swept with a brush get up mud and things getting covered in dust if they were dropped behind a bed or table. One bed in the 2nd floor twin was also a pull out bed so was narrower and shorter than a standard single which was too small for a standard sized adult to be comfortable in. External bin was full so we struggled to get our waste into it and there were no instructions about when to put it out for collection or what to do with recycling even though there was an internal recycling bin.

The location of the house is very good. enough parking space around the property and quiet. Spacious house, enough room for 8 persons. Inventory of the house is very complete. Because of the location and complete inventory we give a 5 score credit.

Cleaning was terrible. Bathroom and toilet were clean, but everywhere cobwebs and dust. under the bed in one of the bedrooms was a chocolate wrap with best before date 5 years before... seems there has been no cleaning in 5 years. One of the bathrooms didnt have working light and no window so we could not use. Second bathroom had a water leak. when using shower / bath the water leaked in the hallway. third and last (working bathroom) was in master bedroom. so if someone wanted to shower in the morning they had to enter the bedroom with other guests sleeping. Cooktop did work, but with problems. when using two or three pans at the same time the power under the pans changes all the time. As reply on an email to the problems the host mailed: We do know there have been issues with a previous leak and the property is being shut down after you depart to sort out these concerns. So why did they let us come if these problems were known??
