Cute Georgian Cottage, central, newly renovated

We loved everything about this beautiful cottage, it has been renovated exceptionally well, spotlessly clean and cosy.the location is great- very close to city centre but not noisy at all.

It was about a 10 minute walk to the Roman Baths. So, fairly central. House had everything you needed for a short stay and it was beautifully decorated. Ruby was a very considerate host and made sure the heating was on before we arrived, and was very accommodating of our in/out times.

It is SO thoughtfully and beautifully appointed – Ruby has made it so inviting, with so many little touches we adored - the little battery candles on the mantelpiece, the toys she left out for my daughter to play with, the sheet for the bed to use instead of the duvet if hot, the biscuits she left.... The design and furnishings are beautiful and very cosy, she has a great eye - it's clearly been chosen with a lot of care and love. Everything works perfectly, from the wi fi to the explanations on how to do the recycling, and it was IMMACULATELY clean. A big bath, and lots of room on the landing upstairs for bags. Bed was super comfy and the blackout blinds on the windows of both rooms were ace. The location was great - at the upper end of Bath, but just a short walk to everything (about 20 minutes walk to the station for us, though I was with a tired four year old – we should have hopped in a cab, which we did on other days when tired. Restaurants etc nearby, though we ate in town.

There was a fair amount of traffic on the small single lane road outside, on the weekdays (the Saturday was much better). I'm not sure if there was a road closure elsewhere, but it was oddly busy for or first two days. I was slightly worried on arrival BUT once inside, it really wasn't a problem – there is an inner door at the front which blocks noise, and very effective double glazing thoughout, then fans in the two bedrooms (which we didn't need when we stayed in late July). I am very traffic conscious and a poor sleeper, and we weren't bothered by it at ALL. I would absolutely stay again, no question, and I am really fussy. Really just mentioning in case a kid staying had asthma or something.
