The house was really nice. Only thing missing was directions for the internet and TV which owner should have been there but cleaning person had removed.

Such a great little place. Tucked away from life's busyness and a welcome retreat. It would be 5 stars except for a few issues. The water quality is not great. It wasn't good for drinking and my hair smelled after showering. I totally understand well water can be that way but I feel like the listing should suggest bringing water since it's such a long drive out to the cottage. There is filtered water at the kitchen sink but it didn't seem any better so I'm guessing the filter hasn't been changed recently. The batteries were dead in the TV remote. Again, not a big deal and the host offered to send someone to fix it but by then we had already solved the problem and went into town to get batteries. And finally, there were ants getting into anything we left out. Not a huge issue but still a hassle. On the positive though, we did enjoy our stay. It was very peaceful and comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. We accidentally got locked out (they are set on auto relock) and the team was very helpful at getting us back in. The pictures on the listing could use an update but overall a great little cottage.

Cabin was nicely redone on the inside, with great views of the water from the deck. It made for great sunsets. The beach was a short walk, and the kiddo definitely enjoyed it. I wasn’t sure if the launch was open to us, so I left our fishing boat at home, but the lake looked like a haven for fish. It was a short drive to Jays, the Animal Education Center, and the Clare County Historical Society. Great trip overall.
