The Fifie. A home away from home.

The location was beautiful. The flat was clean and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked. We never turned on the TV so not sure how it got reception or anything. There is a little bodega across the street with the most delicious pastries.

The front door mail slot was broken and there was cold air coming in. The closet with all the extras was locked and we were unable to use the gold clubs. And we could not figure out how to hang our clothes out in the back yard as stated in the wonderful book that was provided for us.

Accommodation was great.

Parking was a little awkward

No check in instructions provided in advance despite me messaging several times. Ended up calling the owner when we were outside. No soap or washing up liquid. When I asked the owner there was no apology just told them must have run out. Offered to bring some round the following day which obviously was not particularly helpful as we couldn’t exactly not wash our hands for a day. Freezer wasn’t working - not informed of this in advance. Again when I contacted the owner there was no apology, just advised they knew and a replacement was coming next week (again, not particularly helpful as we were only staying the weekend). When I explained why we needed the freezer the owner did not reply to me. Guest handbook needs updating and half the list in the hall cupboard not actually there. Overall these were minor inconveniences however the owners lack of apology/care and response to these issues makes me concerned that bigger issues wouldn’t be taken seriously for future bookings. If there are no issues then future guests will have a lovely stay however.

Great location. Well equipped.

A supply of tea, coffee and washing up liquid would have been useful. More attention to cleaning would have given it higher scores. Information in booklet is out of date and requires to be updated.
