Perfectly located houses, wonderful views out to sea and near to amenities.e

Liked the great view from the property, being able to cross the quiet road and sit on a bench looking out to sea with our lunch, short walk to a lovely bakery and ice cream shop. Met some lovely friendly people on our wanders around Pittenween, saw seals in the harbour.

Would have liked a blind in the downstairs toilet which the public path goes past, especially at night when need the light on. The window in the lounge didn't stay open we had to prop a book or log for the fire in the window to stop it shutting and forever worried about it falling out onto someone's head on the path below. Wardrobe in the first floor double bedroom was quite wobly and worried about it falling.

3 night stay at Pitternwee

Excellent location and sea views. Good equipped kitchen. Lovely beds.

Sink in upstairs toilet hanging off the wall and taps flexible not connected, so unuseable. Hot tap in downstairs bathroom very loose and in danger of leaking. Both of the above were reported to the letting agent and nothing was done. Light fitting under the kitchen cupboard hanging off. No privacy blind in the downstairs toilet / shower room, as this is ground pavement level and needs to be there. There are also lots of niggley bits that need addressing.

We enjoyed but could have been better

Lovey location with beautiful views overlooking the harbor and sea. Plenty of car parking right in front of the house. The house felt clean throughout but felt tired in areas.

First impressions of the outside were the house looked tired and in need of a repaint and attention to the windows! This continued inside with most of the downstairs windows unable to open. Lots of marks on wall and ceilings. The small bathroom on the 1st floor had all the taps plumbing disconnected which effectively put that out of use for the 6 of us staying there which frankly is poor. Also the place is ran by a property management company with a check in of 16.00 and check out by 10.am which felt rushed getting 6 people ready and out for that time, especially as we were only there Friday to Sunday. Large ferocious dog next door aggressively barking meant we couldn’t really use the garden ( fence in the process of being built should help) Also the taps in the main bedroom are both loose and spin in the basin. The internal front glass door is a poor fit and difficult to open and close. The bins in the back yard reed to be emptied as a matter of urgency!!

A beautiful place but too many disappointments.

Beautiful location and so much to do in the East Neuk of Fife. The accommodation was very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed, the views out across the water were fantastic.

The garden was unfortunately not something that we were able to use because the neighbours dog kept jumping over the wall into it. My young children were too scared to go out and play in the garden. Furthermore the dog defecated multiple times in the garden and it was not cleaned up by the owner. Cleanliness was an issue inside the property too. I found a dirty oily tray in the bottom of the oven, a bin full of tissues in the wardrobe and the windows were hard to see out of because of the thick layer of dirt on them. Also the toilet brush was filthy and needs replacing.

Exterior paintwork/windows/secondary glazing require robust attention. Back yard looking very tired and scruffy. Dirty rear windows. Blind needed in bathroom.

Comfortable and relaxed place to stay right by the sea

Great position great value Parking opposite property always available good to have an excellent outdoor and dog secure garden . Very well equipped

Nothing of any consequence would not be good for anyone either mobility issues tho . I booked a property on Booking . Com which took dogs but booking . Com did not take the extra charge into account when booked and had to pay and advise owners seperately

Lovely airy feel, decorated well. Everything you would need at the cottage. I think maybe just been renovated as there were wee things missing. The big one for me was a blind in the shower room on the ground floor. I absolutely loved being here in the top bedroom, we opened the window and fell asleep to the waves every night/the best night sleep ever! The garden is lovely but I think for older people staying a handle/banister up the garden steps would be helpful.

Just little things that would be easy to put right - no wardrobe in middle bedroom- some hooks with hangers would have been great. hook on toilet door would be appreciated too. The snug middle toilet washbasin took a while to drain. The front door lock took some getting used to - we were worried it had broken at first.

Great weekend with family, perfect choice of location, relaxing break

The location was absolutely stunning, views from top floor bedroom and living room fantastic. Kitchen was well equipped too. Perfect place for dog walkers, coastal path was great and also good safe outdoor swimming. We parked the car on arrival and didn't move it until we left.

Lovely stay, great location, comfortable house.

The location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding nearby and wanted to spend some time in St Andrews while we were here. The house catered for what our party needed and the views were incredible.

The only slight criticism is the lack of hanging space for clothes in the small double bedroom, very minor detail as everything else was great.

great time with fabulous weather.

Location was excellent. had a wonderful time exploring and going walking on the coastal path. Ate in the Dory restaurant, amazing food. Visited Crail and Anstruther and ST. Andrews.

The house was cosy and very clean. We did experience a power cut for a bit... Could have done with a torch! the only observation was that one of the sofas looked a bit worn .

Peaceful week away

Fantastic location. Easy parking at this time of year. Nice kitchen. It would be interesting to know the history of this house. Very peaceful house.

House could do with a window cleaner visiting weekly. House was a bit neglected. House could do with an upgrade in living room and bedrooms. Radiator in main bedroom needs bled, it can get very cold in this room due to wind coming through the old windows. Back garden has been neglected.

Great location

Great location. Nice and quiet at night. Bedrooms on 3 different levels two of which had to be accessed through the sitting room. Dining table in kitchen only seats 4 so if there are 6 adults eating together would be difficult due to space. Likewise sofas would be a squeeze for 6 adults. Could do with an additional armchair. A few minor problems were dealt with very quickly. Garden is not very inviting and needs upgrading or at least regular maintenance. Overall a nice stay.

Disappointing - thankfully the weather was good and we spent most of our time outdoors.

Location, view and parking were good.

After an annoying barrage of emails from Short Stay St. Andrews there was no sense of welcome at the property at all - only bins stuffed to the brim and nothing to indicate which day was bin day. The general level of cleanliness was poor; the living room carpet was full of dog hairs, not surprisingly as the vacuum cleaner was woefully inadequate. The kitchen window was particularly filthy and the outdoor space was frankly grim - the properties to either side stood out in stark contrast for tidiness. The washing machine was functional but housed in a dirty shed outside. There were only 3 dishwasher tablets left for 6 guests over 4 days; similarly not enough loo roll was provided for 6 guests. There were no pillow protectors provided; one of the single quilts was so dirty it should be binned. The plug-hole in the bath had obviously not been cleaned for a long time as it was clogged with matted hair and ‘gunk’ Sadly, I could not recommend this property to anyone except to say it’s in a nice location with a sea view.

Sea views and stone throw from the beach. Layout worked well. Has excellent potential!

No mattress/pillow protectors in property. Washing machine in derelict outhouse did not work and its roof was leaking on top of it. Hot tap was not secure in main bathroom. Soundproofing in living room windows did not feel very secure. Power cut on our last evening meant having to go out in evening to purchase candles and torches. Garden overgrown with weeds and grass and dog poo left from previous occupiers. Could therefore not sit in the garden. No oven gloves. Some broken floorboards in living room making it dangerous for dogs.

Absolutely loved the house it's quirkiness and its position with amazing views, local folk were very friendly too! I would definitely return, just a few small issues easily remedied. Ice cream shop along the road is amazing!!!!

I felt it needed a touch of TLC, I know COVID has had a large impact on everyone, but for me the sofa's need replacing the cream one especially struggled to get off it it swallows you up! Upstairs top room could do with a more comfy mattress. Downstairs toilet seat and hot water washbasin tap needs attending to.
