Blue Line Resort is a lovely cabin community located about four miles south of downtown Murphysboro. The grounds are a delight to return to each afternoon, offering a small pond, a dock with built-in benches where you can drop a fishing line, a gazebo with a swing, and a firepit where you can gather for stories and stargazing each evening. Communal laundry facilities are available as well.

This particular cabin is nestled at the edge of the pond, with generous outdoor spaces to enjoy in spring, summer, and fall. Bring your coffee outside to the covered front porch and gather around the picnic table in the afternoon for an alfresco lunch prepared on the grill.

Inside, the studio-style layout is roomy and comfortable. There's a combined living and sleeping area with a smart TV (please use your own accounts for streaming), a windowside dining table, and a well-equipped kitchenette with a fridge/freezer, a microwave, an air fryer, and double hot plates. Complimentary WiFi is also on hand to keep you connected.

The cabin is very clean, seems newly remodeled. The bed was very comfortable and the couch seems new as well. We didn’t have the chance to grill but the cabin was stocked with everything you need to grill. The deck off the back over looks the pond with comfy patio furniture. It was nice to sit outside with coffee listening to the fish jump and watch the Amish neighbors go by in their horse and buggies. It was a very peaceful comfortable stay.

We had a great trip and the cabin was as advertised. We hiked some awesome trails and did the wine trail. The cabin itself was not cleaned very well. Upon request, we were denied early check in. They sent an automated reply stating they had to ensure the property was up to their standards. It was evident when we checked in that the cabin had sat vacant for some time. Most of the corners and the shower had cobwebs/spiders in them. The shower was pretty dirty in the bottom. The floors were so dusty that when I dropped my black pillow, I didn't want to use it after I picked it up. Our son brought his Hotwheels, which meant reaching under the couch and bed. We'd pull the cars out covered in cobwebs and dust. We were wishing we'd been left with any basic cleaning supplies to rectify the situation while we were there. We were also not left with any trash bags, so once we used the first bag the first night (we grilled meat, so needed to go out), we had to go buy more bags. The AC couldn't even begin to cool the cabin, leaving it around 76 during the day and 75 at night. We appreciate they mowed right before we got there, but you could tell the grass had been so tall and we tracked long pieces of grass in all weekend. Again, would have been nice if we had even a broom. The cabin though was as advertised and had nice finishes. The property was nice. They should update their address, as the listed address doesn't exist in google maps. Customer service is handled by an overseas call cen
