Cheap warm and cheerful

The worst place ever. Had to book elsewhere not habitable.

Nothing it was unhabitable did not stay booked in at Travelodge, I will upload the photos will also add the corridors smelt of sewage and canabis. Also when the manager saw me taking photos he told me I had to leave tge property immediately. Please do not book this property it is not fit for anyone to stay.

The mould in the shower, cigarette burns in the shower, dirt on carpet, hoke in bathroom door, no wardrobe or anywhere to put clothes, tge bed being 3inch off the floor, bed would not have fit 2 people in it, signs falling off, window broken and boarded up, paint falling off, lock on door falling off, stench of sewage and cannabis.

Way better than expected for the price!

We were a little concerned about this hotel after reading some recent reviews, but we picked it as a cheap weekend getaway and as we were not planning on spending much time in the room, we thought it would be ok for the price of £31 a night, which was much cheaper than anywhere else in Skegness, on Valentine's weekend. It was way better than we expected! The room looked relatively recently painted, the bed was a little firm and quite low, but comfortable all the same. Pillows felt brand new. It was spotlessly clean and although the room and en-suite were a little on the snug side, it was fine for a couple of nights stay. The man on reception was very pleasant, friendly, polite and happy to provide extra coffee and milk for the room when requested. All in all, we would certainly consider staying here again.

There was a bit of a smoky smell in the corridor outside our room, but thankfully not in the room itself.

Like sleeping in a tent

Radiators in room was not working, windows in room did not close properly. The room was freezing. We had been down to ask if there was any heaters or extra duvets we could have we was told to go back to owe room. But nothing was provided. Toilet seat would not stay up. Not safe for boys.

Shower head kept falling, lid of toilet seat kept falling one sat on the toilet. Kettle looked like it could make witches brew. 207. But for 28 quid on a Saturday night.. I slept like a baby

The property stunk of fags and the boiler had “broke” while we stayed at the hotel and my family was freezing cold we had to sleep in our hoodies and coats.

Terrible experience – system failure, hidden charges, and unprofessional communication

This was a completely unacceptable experience. The property has a serious failure in its access and check-in system. There is a keypad/touchpad on the door that does not work properly, leaving guests unable to enter. Instead of fixing this basic issue or providing a reliable access solution, the staff attempted to impose additional “late check-in” charges, which are effectively hidden fees. If a hotel states reception hours until 10:00 p.m., arriving at 11:00 p.m. is entirely reasonable and should not result in penalties—especially when people were clearly coming in and out of the property at the same time. Charging guests for the hotel’s own system failure is unacceptable and feels like a rip-off. What made the experience worse was the attitude of one of the staff. Rather than acknowledging the problem, he accused me of trying to manipulate the situation through the online booking system. This accusation was offensive, unprofessional, and completely inappropriate. Asking for basic access and fair treatment is not “manipulation.” The communication was poor, dismissive, and uncomfortable. Instead of providing hospitality, the focus was on blaming the guest and justifying extra charges. This experience reflects a serious lack of professionalism and basic customer service standards. I would strongly advise future guests to be cautious. This issue has been escalated through Booking.com, and I will be requesting a refund.

We got lucky with no bed bugs and had a fine stay for the price but we heard others weren't so lucky

I think for the price the place was as we expected. We had read some pretty bad reviews so we weren't expecting much. It wasn't as bad as some of the reviews said. The bed was clean. We were literally only there to sleep - arrived late, left early. Spoke to the guy on reception on the phone as we were arriving who was friendly and helpful and told us a good place to park for free nearby. We had read reviews about bed bugs, but we inspected our bed pretty thoroughly and didn't see any signs of them and no signs of being bitten in the morning, but we hung up all our clothes off the floor overnight just in case. We did however hear another guest in the morning complaining how they had found bed bugs in their bed, so I guess we were just lucky with which room we had.

The hallway and stairs stank of old sweat, a really unpleasant odour to arrive to. However thankfully our room smelt fine. There was no lamp in our room so only the big main light, which isn't great to relax before sleep.

Absolutely disgraceful

Absolutely disgraceful!!!! No 24 hr reception service like we were told, the room was freezing, no room facilities! The shower was pathetic and only had one towel each for our stay. There was broken plug sockets as you can see by the photos. All of this is a health and safety risk so very dangerous. Incredibly disgusted as I paid money for it to be at a good standard. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

The carpet was dirty the furniture was poor quality and dirty the bottom draw had a hole in it , the kettle flex couldn’t be plugged in without removing it from the table to the floor the sink and bath were both grubby there was no sink plug the toilet seat had a big crack in it the curtains wouldn’t close and one of the windows wouldn’t close properly the stairs and corridors smelled of cannabis and on checking out the reception was unmanned with shutters down and we were told to post our room keys in a black box on the wall on our way out

Awful experience and hotel.

The room was clean.

The room was clean but really not comfortable. There was no-one on duty at Reception when I arrived but they did come when I called them. The bed in the room was a very old single bed and the base was threadbare. The mattress was stiff and uncomfortable. The facilities were very basic and the shower was awful; I would never use this hotel again and would certainly not recommend it to anyone! Carpets outside the room were threadbare in places, especially in the stairs area which could be dangerous. I wasn't expecting luxury at the price, but a toilet made of at least two other toilets (even different colours) and a shower that was either boiling hot or freezing cold were not good. There was a chair but it was an old bare wooden school type chair and the "television" was also awful. There was a very modern kettle, but the cord wasn't long enough to stretch to the plug so I had to use it on the floor. Not impressed! Photos attached of how bad the bed looked.

Good value but needs updating.

Location was perfect , staff were helpful and lovely. Room was a decent size as was bathroom. Tv and kettle in the room . When a new clean towel was requested it was dealt with quickly and more coffee provided when asked. As an extra bonus they allowed us to store luggage before check in and after check out whilst we waited to be picked up. Rooms were clean..

The room was very outdated and the carpet was stained. We know they are working to do the rooms up, though . Coffee cups were very tiny. Maybe a mug would be ideal for rooms. Shower head trickled but again they are doing it up so no real issue if it all gets replaced and updated . Lights were main light or nothing so a lamp would be good.

It provided somewhere to spend the night after being with family but didn't get much sleep.

Breakfast wasn't included so had to go to Premier Inn. Tea tray provided plenty of drinks but didn't like having a small cup while hubby had a large one would have preferred to have a mug. Beds had very clean bedding on. Wall heater in the bathroom was a blessing for cold mornings.

Shower only trickled down the back of shower head and water was very hot.Only 1 chair in the room so one of us had to sit on the bed. Need a small table in the window. Windows where in a bad state. Double bed mattress felt to soft and gave us back ache. Traffic noise quite loud.
