Vila Elvia

A lovely sizeable property with large rooms, balconies that look in every direction and a lovely view over the town which is only a short walk away. A very nice garden although it goes into the shade very quickly with a pool and ping pong table.

Initial communication was lacking and took a while to respond although this was apologised about afterwards. The owners of the Villa overlook the property and definitely give a sense of being watched at times. Also it needs to be made more obvious about the deposit with immediate offer for bank transfer instead of it having to be asked for and there is a long requirements list to be completed before leaving.

A great place to say for a group and is a 20 minute walk from the town. Very good value for money!

This was our second year in a row staying at this villa, and it is a very spacious property in a great location, very close to the Old Town. The bedrooms are large, and the sunny garden and good-sized swimming pool make it ideal for families and larger groups. The villa has a lot of potential and, when maintained properly, is a great place to stay.

Unfortunately, compared with our stay last year, the property feels neglected and is in need of some money being spent on maintenance and improvements. Communication from the agent was even worse than last year. We appreciate being allowed an early check-in, but after being told we could enter the property, we were left standing outside for nearly an hour waiting for the key safe code. Despite sending several messages, the code was not provided until much later. If we are told we can access the property, the code should be sent at the same time. The €800 security deposit also took far too long to be returned, and we received considerably less than expected due to the agent’s bank conversion rate. There were several maintenance and cleanliness issues throughout the villa: • Lots of ants in the en-suite bathroom. • The kettle leaks badly. • Towels smelt damp. . Only 1 hand soap for the whole villa • Balcony floors were dirty, with weeds growing between the tiles. • The seating on the master bedroom balcony was filthy and had to be cleaned by us. • The steps into the swimming pool were loose and felt unsafe, as though they could give way. • The jacuzzi bath does not work. We also found the checkout cleaning requirements excessive, with a very long list of tasks and warnings of substantial fines if everything is not completed. Overall It is disappointing to see the villa’s condition and service decline since our visit last year. The spacious layout, great location, sunny garden and pool are all excellent features, but poor communication, maintenance issues and cleanliness let the property down this time around. With better management, proper maintenance and more attention to cleanliness, this could once again be an excellent villa. However, based on our experience this year, several improvements are needed before we would feel confident recommending it without reservation.
