Homegrown Hideaway

The bed, tent was so clean. No bugs

No electricity. Need to charge phone. Was a place to charge at the back of the washroom. Over all it was good. It will be my last time camping. I’m use to AC and pools.

Easy check in , good communication. Welcome package with instructions and facility details done well. Privacy , and bathrooms were clean. We were treated to a beautiful firefly display which was an unexpected treat.

A few minor details were noticed , the screen on our Tent was damaged and had been previously repaired however the duct tape was no longer securely fastened and the hole was large enough for wildlife to access the interior of the tent. Fortunately we did not get any unwanted guests. Notified the host and they assured me that it would repaired as soon as possible. Unsure if it is possible to fog/ spray the area for deer flys , we were swarmed by them during the mid afternoon hours and although we used bug spray they were relentless. Thankfully, they disappeared after the sunset in the evening. Otherwise, we did not experience any problems with mosquitoes which was great. We were not anticipating the noise from the road next to the property, I realize that the owner has no control over the amount of traffic but they may want to consider asking the local police to monitor more closely. We were awake from 1 am until 3 am listening to street racing.

Highway noise

The location was great. It's a very qante spot in the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Lowlands. I liked how close I was to the bathrooms, and how very clean they where. The very little bugs this time of year was a bonus.

There could have been more tables outside? A side table for drinks or food? The bedroom could have used one more table to keep things off the floor or a few hooks to hang clothes. Perhaps a heater ;) I always run cold. No electricity is a bummer for the price tag.
