Allmenningen Apartments

Lovely apartment, comfortable and nicely decorated. Helpful owners when contacted about missing equipment. Luggage storage after checkout. Excellent location near the harbour and funicular, and a nice private roof terrace with lovely views over Bergen. We loved our stay here, and the positives definitely outweighed the niggles.

The stairs! It's a 4th floor apartment with no lift so be aware. I was on crutches so not ideal. Other than that it was just minor niggles, e.g. no microwave or toaster in the kitchen (we asked for a grill pan and oven gloves which were quickly provided) and the sloping ceilings which caused a couple of bumps on the head.

The location was great. The communication with the property manager was clear and timely. The ability to store our luggage in the event of early arrival.

The inability to access the courtyard when an item fell out the bedroom window. The long way to go to dispose of the trash (it would have been nice to be able to leave it for the cleaning service to dispose of given our early departure before 6 am) which was a bit of a hassle. The noise in the courtyard from the restaurant rolling a cart and disposing of trash at 23:00 and the property next door to the bedroom window was being painted at 23:00 and the painter was smoking which led us to have to close the windows to not have to breathe in cigarette smoke while trying to fall asleep.

The apartment is gorgeous, clean, and modern.

The apartment is located across from a club that stays open until 2 AM. There is nonstop music until then, and the people are drunk, going in and out of the club, shouting and laughing. We couldn't get any sleep until after 2 AM. It was pretty bad.
