Spectacular river view apartment

Lots of good aspects: Cute place overall. Fantastic natural light and fresh air. Great view of river. Excellent location to catch many trams/buses. Easy to walk to sights. Kitchen has one of everything you'd need to cook a light meal. Big closet area with lots of shelves. Comfortable bed. Friendly and welcoming host, who left some tomatoes from her garden.

Some drawbacks: Very limited counter space for those who stay longer and prepare their own meals, as I do. An unpleasant smell that comes and goes in the bathroom (seems to be a plumbing issue and not anything that can be solved by the host). No outlet near head of bed to charge phone. No soft lighting (every light is really strong). There was a tiny rechargeable lamp that was more of a nightlight light than any kind of living light. The scaffolding: Finally, there was scaffolding covering the entire front of the building during my stay (it was removed on my last morning - after a 10-night stay). It covered the rungs of the balcony and obstructed the view a little bit with metal pieces jutting out. It also made the balcony unusable because of the dirt, mess, and tools. So while the photos show chairs and a table on the balcony, I was unable to use the balcony at all. For two full work days during my stay,, there were workmen on the balcony as they finished up replacing some part of the top rail. So it was not just the loss of privacy of having workers there (one day they put opaque plastic over the glass doors; one day they didn't, so I had to draw the curtains), but also the noise, the cigarette smoke, the strong chemical smell of some adhesive for the project, and the loss of fresh air. Now, to be clear, I am NOT blaming the host for any of this. However ... this scaffolding did not unexpectedly go up the morning of my arrival (it was a building-wide balcony project), and while the host may have HOPED the work would be finished before I arrived, it was clearly not going to be. So, what I would have expected and appreciated was a message alerting me to the scaffolding situation and offering me a chance to cancel without penalty — or offering me to stay with a discount — a day or two BEFORE my arrival. Could I have objected and found another place after my arrival? Yes. I chose not to. And that doesn't change my point.

The location was brilliant, it had everything you'd want for a self catered stay. It was quiet and comfortable with great views. Easy to reach by bus from the train station and airport. We loved how close it was to the river, which was great for walking and cycling, but it was also close to the old town and the museums as well. We like the independence of an apartment stay and this one has everything. There are supermarkets close by. The owner was super friendly and a great ambassador for the city with lots of tips for what to see and do.

It didn't bother me, but some reviewers have mentioned stairs and there are indeed several flights of them.

Appartement très agréable, propre, confortable et idéalement situé pour visiter la ville à pied. La vue sur la rivière est appréciable. Les échanges avec l’hôte ont été simples et efficaces. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour.

Location is great, close to both the Old Town and the New Town. Apartment is an old charming building, with higher ceiling. Cosy home.

It should not be marketed as an apartment with a fire place- it’s not allowed to be used. Even not enough candles for my 3 day stay. The bathroom has serious mold issue, there is a smell and black mold between the tiles. It’s been ’masked’ by room fragrances. No coffee machine. Also entrance door code didn’t work half the time. Dirty table cover. Basically little effort to make the home welcoming.
