Located in central Manuel Antonio, La Maison Blanche is a modern villa divided into just 4 apartments which share a gorgeous pool—a great, boutique alternative to a hotel, and appeals to like-minded couples and travelers looking for tranquility and nature. Each apartment has a full kitchen, an open, spacious floor plan, separate bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, and wide balcony from which to appreciate the local wildlife. Its westerly orientation means great year-round sunsets. The master bedroom has direct access to the balcony and great 'rainforest views', while the guest room is quietly tucked in back.
The neighborhood—literally called ‘Valle Pura Vida’ (aka the ‘Valley of Pure Life’)—is known for its rainforest animals and nature. It’s located about midway between Quepos (the closest town and marina), and the main public beach (Playa Espadilla) and national park, approximately 10 minutes in either direction. Furthermore, for the adventurous, one can walk to a couple of local beaches and a waterfall within 30-45 minutes. For those who want to hang out on the balcony and enjoy their morning coffee—or afternoon wine—there is no better place to see scarlet macaws, toucans, monkeys and other wildlife.

The host and their team was excellent, the property location was amazing with beautiful flora and fauna right on our door step, and the unit was very comfortable. However, there were two maintenance issues that should be addressed: the main sliding door latch at the opposite end from the main lock is broken, and in effect the sliding door is not secure, and the safe is not secured to the building, so essentially someone could walk away with the safe and all of your valuables.
