San Jose is a great base for hiking, MTB and various water sports. It is not too big but still has all the useful rental places for sports gear. The Lunar cable park is in hour away by car if you fancy some wakeboarding or wakeskateing. Casa Azabara is close to town but not too close with a good size and a nice veranda for up to 4 people. Parking is easy and it is a 3 minute walk to the next super market. If you come by plane to Spain get a rental car. So to make the story short it is very recommendable. Keep in mind that it is neither a party vulcano nor the Eremitage of a rural turismo offering. We liked that it is somewhere in the middle.
