Retreat am Teich

The apartment was very good for a one-night stay. I'm pretty sure it's very good for a longer stay as well, as it is well furnished and easy to access (no keys, just an access code). There are two separate bedrooms, and each of them has a large double bed. One double bed is a bit wider, and since we were with three kids, one kid slept with the parents in the middle. But it was by choice, as no one wanted to sleep on a sofa in the living room. The sofa was also ok, but I think it did not have a mattress to make it a bit more softy sleep. Anyway, not everyone has the same sleeping preferences. There was also a cot near the wider double bed, but we didn't use it because our kid is too big for it. Worth mentioning that the room with the wider bed has windows to the street. If the windows are open, you can really hear the cars driving; it might be pretty loud (depending on your sensitivity), but for me, when the windows were closed, it was pretty calm and no problem sleeping at all. The apartment is on the zero floor, but it is a bit higher, so the street is a bit lower, meaning not on the same level as you while in the apartment. The other room with the wide bed is on the opposite side of the apartment, so it's way calmer. Next to the inner yard, there's some kind of construction happening, but it was not loud in the morning at all; I just wanted to mention this. Also, the apartment has a dark room to keep the luggage and... maybe naughty kids ;) Jokes aside, the kids really loved the toilet paper, as I think it was with the Easter attributes (I haven't paid much attention). The kids even offered to leave our toilet paper and make a swap with our personal toilet paper we had picked up for our long trip. What can I say? From the kids' perspective, it was a really understanding and tempting offer :)

I personally felt that the mattress in the wider double bed was way too soft for me. My wife and my kids said that they slept very well. The sofa was too hard. A little mattress on the sofa could help to find the middle ground. But as I said, it's a sleeping preference. The one confusing thing was that we could not find how to access the parking lot :) The message we received was: "the parking lot is on the right after opening the two red gates". The thing is that there are no red gates around :) We drove around the block to find those gates and couldn't. But it was a nice trivia for us to realise that the mentioned gates might actually be the red doors :) Yes, they are huge, and some people (especially those living there) might consider them gates, as they actually open the driveway/courtyard entrance (not sure about the exact wording), but for us, travelers, looking at the building from the street's point of view, we just saw the huge door, and we hadn't thought it could open the driveway to the inner yard. I think this might be useful info for other travelers as well :) Also worth mentioning that it was a pretty stormy evening when we arrived, so darkness, rain, and flashlights might have added a bit of an extra challenge. Also, we travelled in an SUV, so the driveway was pretty narrow. I guess nothing much can be improved here, as the entrance is part of the building, but if a Volvo XC90 can make it, then I guess almost any regular passenger car can make it as well, just need to fold down the side mirrors.

Da außerhalb von Fort William muss der dortige Stau nicht stören. Gut erreichbar. Schön im Grünen gelegen. Alles so weit sehr zweckmäßig, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.

Zu kleine Betten für große Leute. Etwas gemütlichere Beleuchtung wäre schön. Wäscheständer wäre hilfreich.

Sehr wohnlich eingerichtet und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Die Nähe zum Zentrum ist toll.

Große Wohnung,Stadtzentrum gut zu erreichen,Parkmöglichkeit im Hinterhof,allerdings nur 1 Auto für die Wohnung erlaubt.

Wohnung war bei Ankunft (Mitte Februar) nicht geheizt, Küchenausstattung very basic (z.B. keine Topfdeckel), obwohl Sauberkeit im allgemeinen gut, leider Schimmelbildung im Bereich der Dusche, trotz ausreichendem Platz in der Wohnung keine Kleiderschränke, nur schmale Garderobenständer mit ein paar Bügeln, Lage zwar zentrumsnah, aber äußeres Umfeld eher unattraktiv
