About this apartment rental
The Accommodation
The 150-square-meter villa features four bedrooms on the upper floor—three with comfortable double beds (160x200) and one with a bunk bed and a double bed (140x200)—as well as two modern bathrooms and two separate restrooms (one on each floor). A travel crib is available.
On the first floor is a very spacious and light-filled living and dining room with three sofas, comfortable armchairs, a large dining table, an open fireplace, and a large, well-equipped kitchen with an additional small seating area.
From the sunroom and the kitchen, you step out onto the stone terrace with a spacious, southwest-facing seating area that can be shaded from the sun by a retractable awning. The 800-meter garden, beautifully landscaped and completely secluded by a tall hedge, offers a variety of uses. It is equipped with lounge chairs, two hammocks, a ping-pong table, and soccer goals; you can read, play bocce, Viking chess, and more.
The villa is located in a very quiet area in the oldest part of Lacanau and is surrounded by very pretty Belle Époque villas.
Thanks to its central location (100 meters from the supermarket, bakery, butcher, fishmonger, and market hall, and 200 meters from the beach), everything can be reached easily and leisurely on foot.
In the summer, the house charms with its seamless transition from the living room to the terrace. It also shows its sunny side in every other season: the cozy fireplace seating area invites you to linger, and during the colder months, central heating provides additional comfort.
The miles-long sandy beaches with the finest white sand delight every vacationer, and the Atlantic Ocean offers a different view every day. Surfing, bodyboarding, simply diving through the waves, or enjoying them from the beach—everything is possible.
The nearby lakes—Lac de Lacanau (7 km) and Lac de Hourtin in Maubuisson (13 km)—with their wide sandy beaches offer a quieter alternative for swimming, sailing, windsurfing, and canoeing.
Numerous biking and hiking trails allow for excursions through the pine forests and provide access to the dunes and secluded beaches.
Golf enthusiasts will also find well-maintained golf courses in Lacanau.
Day trips to the World Heritage city of Bordeaux, the châteaux of the Médoc, the Dune of Pila, or the Gironde estuary are all easily accessible from Lacanau—each about an hour’s drive away—and round out your vacation.
