Atouguia House - Traditional House

It was the perfect place to stay: the host, Bruno was waiting for us as we arrived to give us the keys to his traditional house and to show us around, explain what can be found where in the apartment and also tell us about the house's history. At first glance, we were mesmerized, which did not let up. He helped us around the neighborhood where to eat, where to buy our groceries, even if everything else was closed. He also left us some local delicacies, he grew on his estate. We stayed at Atouguia House for 6 days, during which we were always in contact, thus he shared all the info with us to have the perfect stay. The apartment had everything we needed, the kitchen was fully equiped, we could even wash our clothes and just as advertised, we really had the whole apartment to ourselves. Thank you, Bruno for being the best host we could wish for and hope to return soonish to your magical island.

Absolutely amazing stay! The host was incredibly warm and caring – he showed us his farm and shared delicious local products, which made the experience truly special. The place was cozy and comfortable, with stunning views and lovely walking paths. We felt so welcomed and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed the stay at Atouguia House, really calm neighbourhood just 5 minute drive from Calheta’s beach. At the end of the street where the house is located you can start one of the most beautiful hike I ever had. You can enjoy beautiful views from the balcony- foggy slopes, rainbows and the magical sunsets. The house itself is very comfortable and have everything you would need during your vacation- kitchen is well equipped and all the rooms look exactly like on the pictures. Last but not least- Bruno is amazing host - super kind, ready to help or give any advice.
