Wonky apartment

Not a lot !!

The whole house smelt funny...like cheap cleaning liquid trying to cover up old curry smell...very hard to describe. Also thought to start with that the bed was not level but im pretty the apartment was not level...my guests wasn't impressed. Also in description " near nec" 10 min drive is not near !

Black mould and towel frustrations

The only thing that was nice about the property was the sofa

This property didn't meet my expectations from the start, firstly we didn't get sent the code for they key box, we had to ring up numerous times, email and text to get this. After a 4 hour drive and waiting on the door step we finally got this. Upon entery of the property all of the curtains were closed, this was covering yellow blinds, that were ripped and missing, then we realised that there were no towels and we had to go and buy them, this cost us a extra £36 for 3 towels, witch we were refused a refund, the windows and bathroom had lots of black mould, the bed side lamps were in place however there was no plugs so they didn't work, the TV you had to log into a streaming service witch was a huge inconvenience if you didn't have a login. The cable management for the WiFi router was left in a pile of messy wires all over the living room floor. We were told that we would get a refund for the towels however after we left the property in the morning we were told that unless we had left the towels we wouldn't get a refund for these. The mirrors were all dirty and clearly hadn't been wiped or cleaned after the last person.

Having communicated clearly with the host that we were arriving between 8 and 9pm, upon our arrival at 8:05pm there was no one to meet us, we had not been sent a code for the key box and the host was not answering their phone or responding to messages. 45mins after arrival we received a message with the code for the key box, no apology. We finally entered the property to find one of the beds unmade, with drink bottles on the bedside, as if someone had just got out of bed. We felt very unsafe and immediately exited the property and replaced the key. We then had to find alternative accommodation for ourselves for 3 nights at 9pm at night. Unfortunately the host still has not refunded our money 4 days after this debacle. Avoid this property and this host at all costs.

Convenient, comfy and enjoyed my stay.

Beds were comfy, kitchen was nice and clean, sofa comfy and had tea and coffee in the kitchen.

Neighbors using power tools at 8am (i know its not hosts fault but it wasnt great). Email gave wrong door key box number so I called host. Dirty dish cleaning products in sink to use and not enough soap. Place did get abit chilly at times. But overall had a good stay and my friends and I were happy too.

Convenient and suitable for my needs, I was attending the NEC.

Eventually when I found the property, (there was a road nearer to park in), it was pleasant. Key was easy to access. A house split in two. The flat is ground floor. Quiet and comfortable.

There wasn’t a welcome pack, explaining how to use things, eg. TV, Heating, Thermostat and Cooker . It wasn’t a normal tv setup. You had to sign into the tv every time and use apps. (I’m of a certain age that doesn’t find that sort of thing easy). Property wasn’t warm on arrival. However as I had a contact number, I phoned the owner who was happy to give instructions.

Not worth the money

It was close to my sons home

Where to start? I book and stay at a fair few overnight hotels, flats etc and therefore expect a certain standard, especially for £149! On arrival there was no message on booking.com giving the pin code to access the lock box so I had to call the number who was busy. They did call back with the code - it had been emailed! The heating was not on - I was travelling with my parents in their 80's. Another text to get instructions! The TV was streaming only so unless you have accounts with the usual channels you have no chance. I requested the wifi code which i still hadnt found by the time i left as it didnt seem to fit with any of the locked providers. My point here is, please do what every other let does - leave a laminated sheet of instructions. There was not even a tea towel! You can't access the garden although it is over grown so you wouldn't want to. One of the towels were still damp, hopefully from the laundrette! If you are going to charge this sort of money it needs to offer more than just an empty flat! Even the hand wash was watered down. The area is very quiet but it is on a housing estate. I am sorry to say, but it definitely isn't a destination for a short break.

Apartment near Solihull, quiet and value for money.

The apartment was very clean and fresh. The bed comfortable and fully equipped with everything you could need. The apartment itself was also quiet. The location was in a quiet residential street with ample street parking in the area. It's about a 5 minute drive to the town centre, and during rush hour I was able to reach where I was working on the oposite side of town in 15 minutes.

4G wifi, works fine but fibre would be better. A small niggle.
