Goldy's place in E17

I loved this place - it was a few streets over from where I needed to be at an event so perfect for me. This is a neighbourhood area accessible by bus so will probably mainly be of interest for those needing to stay in this particular location. I will definitely look to book this place at future visits to the area.

- Very friendly hosts. - Located in a rather quiet, peaceful area. - The host was fairly prompt in providing certain things like bin liners and dishwashing supplies. She offered to wash any dishes I left in a specific location, but for the most part, I chose to pretend to be a responsible adult and wash the dishes myself. - There is a bus stop right outside the house where the bus will take you to Walthamstow Central, where you can then take the tube to central London (or just spend some time in Walthamstow Central). - Alternatively, the London Overground station is not far away, so you can take that to central London instead. - Located less than 15 minutes' walk away from some grocery stores and some decent places to eat. - The bathroom was pretty large and well-equipped; among other things, there was even an hourglass to time your tooth brushing. - I had no real problems with the wifi. - A kettle, a water filter, a few different kinds of tea bags, some sugar, and some dishes were provided. - Among other things, there were a microscope and a globe inside the room I was in. - I got two USB-powered fans to compensate for the lack of AC.

- No air conditioning, despite the fact that AC was mentioned on Booking.com (which was one of the reasons I chose this property), and it was a hot day when I first came here. Honestly, with how nice the hosts were, I feel bad criticising this, but I think it's important for you to know. I'm willing to give the hosts the benefit of the doubt here; someone probably screwed up somewhere, and I seriously don't think the hosts would be malicious enough to lie about this (although I can't say the same about Booking.com). The hosts said that there was no AC in the whole house, so even though I was given a different room than the one Booking.com assigned to me, I doubt that this would have changed anything. - Bathroom is shared between the other 3 rooms on your floor. Not too bad for me, and in my case, I was the only person on the floor for most of my stay. - Pretty far away from central London; you'll be spending quite a bit of time on trains and buses (but London's public transit is excellent, so you won't be spending too much time walking or waiting for the next vehicle). - You have to climb stairs to get to your room, so it's not wheelchair-accessible. - I am 194 cm tall, and that has turned out to be a bit too tall for the bed, especially since there are boards on both the front and back of the bed.

The room was cozy and clean. There were subtle nice touches throughout like filtered water, kettle, tea/coffee, and microwave. The bed was very comfortable. All in all, it felt like staying at a cousin's house for a few days. I wish there were more shops and eateries nearby, but that's not a knock on this amazing guesthouse. I would definitely stay again.

Nice big tesco.and shops about a 15 minute walk away. Bus stop is right outside. Quiet and very clean house.
