Faultless instructions on how to collect keys from a highly responsive host. No issues here. Location is fantastic, 20-30min taxi from airport, and very close the main high street. Everywhere is walkable from here, with the St. Alexander Nevsky cathedral being no more than 30min walk away. Trams are close by.
The apartment is big and pretty much as depicted. All rooms were clean and no smells initially. Quite well equipped kitchen and very quiet. Bathroom was also clean. But there were some issues (see below). If you just need a decent place to stay for a good price with a responsive host, I recommend this place, just don't mess with the wiring which i why I cannot give an 8/10......more a 7.5.
Though the light at the main building entrance functioned, the light in the hallway closest to the room did not work, so be careful walking up the stairs at night. In the apartment itself, there were quite a few wires (though not exposed) and electrical plates not attached to to wall. The main entrance light did not work.
The smaller bedroom in which I stayed was actually not so bad. Clean, decent number of plug sockets and clean wardrobe to put your belongings in.
The larger bedroom though large has a few issues. My friend stated the bed moved when she slept (floating bed not properly attached ), and the wall attached bedside cabinet was slanting and not fully attached due to the bed movement. Plug socket location was also a minor issue. The drawer cabinets needed to be cleaned as they was also dusty and could not be used.
As for the bed linen, this is not specific to this place, but I do not know why fitted sheets cannot be used. Flats sheets smaller than required, keep coming off. In any case, all the above issues can easily rectified.
The bathroom was fine, though there is a fine line between the very hot and cold water from the shower. We did notice a smell then the toilet was flushed, but this passed after a while and is probably an issue with the building itself.
