Longstone Lodge

A lovely lodge, very clean and spacious. The lodge had everything we needed for a 5 night stay self catering. The hot tub was fab after long days exploring Northumberland, and it was cleaned by staff early every morning (they don't knock on, they just come around the side path and to the back, which isn't an issue, but something to be aware of if you are up early or have a dog that barks) Helen the owner was very accommodating and helpful with anything we needed and called once we arrived to check if everything was ok. We were also left a gift of wine and crisps which was really kind and a nice treat after a 4 hour drive. One thing to be aware of, the plug next to the dining table in the kitchen connects the wifi to the lodge. I unplugged it to sit and dry my hair, woops! We did venture to the pub on site, but didn't eat there so can't comment on the food. The pub was a little soulless and cold, so we didn't stay for a drink. Maybe it's better during the summer months, we visited in Sept. All in all, a really nice cosy lodge, very well thought out to feel like a home away from home with books, toys for kids and games etc. The hot tub area is lovely and private surrounded by trees at the rear and solar powered lights which come on in the evening. You cannot use the hot tub after 10pm and particularly no outside music, in respect of neighbours. I would highly recommend this lodge if you are looking for a cosy, homely, quiet relaxing break away.

Not a moan, as completely a personal preference, but the pillows in the bedroom were absolutely enormous and super firm. If you prefer a softer pillow, it may be worth bringing your own with you.

The property was nice comfortable and homely and very close to the horse saloon the hot tub was fab as well we loved everything about it and got the most comfortable double bed av ever had when been away

Thoughtfully decorated, spotlessly clean, nothing missing in terms of equipment/ finishing touches for your break.

Nothing to dislike.

The lodge was clean, peaceful and tranquil. Had everything we needed for home away from home. Very cosey and well needed break. The lodge was decorated lovely for Halloween. Hot tub was bliss and a perfect way to relax. We have already booked to return!!

It's not a dislike by any means but potentially a nice touch, something such as some milk or bread would be a very pleasant touch after a long drive, however we understand this isn't always feasible.
