Location was fantastic

Smell of dogs was awful, we discovered it was coming from the rug in the living area it was also covered in dog hair. Had to roll up the rug and put it in a cupboard, that helped.

Bathroom door would not shut handle hung off toaster did not work right , what’s redecorating as looking a bit worn

Log burner was really good. Location excellent. Great art work. Comfortable sofas and beds. Good character. Housekeeper contacted us as soon as we arrived and gave details for how to contact her if needed. Adequately equipped kitchen, except cutlery.

Completely understand that it is an older property but state of repair could be better. Walls stained and plaster flaked in bedrooms. Some basic safety issues which we would like to inform owner of but not formally publish. We had to repair ladder to bunk bed which was broken, chair in kitchen was broken, lightbulbs missing from lamps, no plugs in bathroom that fitted sink or bath - we had to purchase. No safety grab rail in bath. Heated towel rail didn’t work, lights not working in kitchen under cabinets, mat in hall raised and a trip hazard. Just general feedback that some basic safety maintenance is required. No hooks for clothes in bathroom and hooks in bedrooms are unstable and poorly fixed. Furniture not as pictured - this wasn’t a massive issue as there was enough for us but slightly misleading. Insufficient cutlery for six people. Don’t want to publish this - just want to give owners feedback as they may not be fully aware.One of the things that should be made aware for people is that there is no upstairs toilet and for elderly guests, with the steep stairs, this needs to be made clear.

Location was good

The parking proved a little tricky due to cars parking opposite. The bathroom heater was required to be on most of the time as the towel rail is not working.
