The property is superbly located in a secluded, rural, hilltop setting which is ideally located for exploring many of Scotland’s sites. The cottage was peaceful with beautiful scenery and adequate parking in a courtyard. Inside it had everything we needed for an enjoyable breakaway.

I had booked two dogs through booking.com however I was then contacted by a third party agent who manages the property requesting further payment for dogs before being able to enter the property. Whilst the property has a good array of facilities in the kitchen, much of the cutlery and utensils are dated/ worn and the kitchen would benefit from an air fryer (personal preference). I’m pretty tall so I repeatedly banged my head going up the stairs and the bed was too short for me however I acknowledge being 6ft3 this is not going to be an issue for everyone. As a mid market rental property, the decor appeared to be a DIY job with not a lot of attention to detail. I think the whole farm’s WiFi routers were located within the cottage and would’ve benefitted from being boxed in rather than flashing on the window. Whilst the cottage initially appeared clean, there is some areas which would’ve benefitted from a more thorough clean prior to rental.
